Lies from the left:

Our “elected” officials have denied the will of the People by funding Obamacare while they continue to enjoy a subsidy which essentially exempts themselves, their families and their staffs, by facilitating illegal immigration which damages our economy and our systems of government and by refusing to limit the Power of the Executive Branch.

The Establishment GOP is NOT a Conservative Party.  One might argue that it is not a Party at all but a Splinter Group of the Big Government Ruling Class.  It has more Christian/religious values when compared to the secular Democrats but their “governing” approach is much the same:  Government has the answers to societal ills so we need to add to it.  In doing so, often times there is a violation to the very Constitution it has sworn to uphold and therefore, is lawless.

If the Federal Government does not enforce laws, if the Federal Government makes laws that apply to the People and not to the Legislators and their staffs, if the Federal Government defies the Constitution and abuses its power to attack Citizenry who they disagree with politically, then are we still a Nation of Laws? If the Government does not obey laws, then do we have any obligation to do so?==============================================================================

Lies from the left:

A long-time friend of mine recently asked if there was anything I could put together for his children (adult voters).  This edition of The SOUTHERN tISSUES is dedicated with that purpose. I suspect I may not be worthy of this challenge but I will do my best.

Recently, I saw this video with the Great One – Mark Levin – and it provided a jumping off point for this for better or worse “diatribe”. I have more of an attacking style when it comes to Progressives because they constantly use Alinsky’s tactics of demeaning their opponent, shouting them down or using an emotional argument to obtain their objectives. They want to destroy the foundations upon which this great country was built by any means. In other words, they piss me off. Tom, I don’t know if this would help with your children or not but here goes (my comments in red):

MARK LEVIN: These are deceitful hack politicians and the American people have to decide if they like the direction the country is going in.

  • Do you want chaos on the border? (The Progressives want to change America from [white] Judeo-Christian values to secular multiculturalism. This attack religion as anti-science and whites as racists who have enjoyed white privilege to garner wealth.  If so, than taking it from them is social and economic justice).
  • Do you want immigration amnesty? (This will align Illegal aliens with the left and if there are criminals included, well they don’t care if your family is affected.  They wish to divide us and race is one way in which they try).
  • Do you want massive debt? (Obama has doubled the debt, purposefully weakening US financially — the next generations will be made to pay; reparations for slavery and for colonialism)
  • Do you want more redistribution of wealth? (To have a ruling class with their crony business partners, there needs to be a far smaller middle class and a class more welfare dependent)
  • Do you want more nationalization of healthcare? (The Federal Government has purposely hidden escalating premiums and people losing their doctors and coverage to avoid political fallout.  Obama lied to the People to get the Linchpin of Progressivism in place.  If they can control your health and life, they control your vote).
  • Destruction of jobs, outsourcing of jobs? (When you redistribute wealth and let the large corporations destroy the individual entrepreneurs which are the engine of growth, when you over- regulate commerce, jobs are destroyed and folks are out of work = more government dependency).
The false narrative that America is greedy when in fact we are the most generous nation in the history of the world. We are exceptional because we believe in the individual whose rights come from Nature not Government.  The Progressive believes America should be weakened substantially and just be another nation among the family of nation… which leads to a One Government New World Order.  They believe in collectivism. When they say it, it’s su casa mi casa.  This has NEVER WORKED! If the DEMs are successful, what will N. Korea, China, Russia, ISIL etc. do?
The Progressives adhere to the Alinsky’s “end justifies the means” mentality.  The want to demean their critics by wild, unwarranted accusations.  Therefore, any criticism comes from Racism, Misogyny, and Phobias about “X” (Muslims, gays … just fill in the blank). So it’s win at all costs – voter fraud is A-OK so play the race guard; illegal immigration is OK, so play the race card; want the gay vote, then play the Homophobia card etc.  Always accuse your opponent of what you are actually doing so all they do is play defense.
Libertarians which for the most part are Tea Partiers, educated younger Millenniums & GEN Xers comprise the new wing of the GOP.  They don’t care what color you are, what preferences you have, what religion you are … PERIOD.  Naturally, they are painted differently by the left and the predominantly left wing press which are in the tank for the DEMs. They believe in many Constitution values such as smaller government (the Left paints this as chaos, anarchy etc.) and individual freedom coupled with individual responsibility and the American work ethic. They don’t want to be the policeman of the world but they do understand that at times America is a force for good and we need to … Jacksonian style not limited engagement nonsense which gets our service persons killed.
The LEFT would have you believe in Global Warming even though unfalsified data suggests otherwise.  Could there be some minimal impact of carbon emissions etc.  Yes, but most escape into space as NASA satellites captured.  Therefore, migrate to cleaner fuels and/or cleaner processes over time without a disruptive change which would severely damage Western economies and wrest more power to our friends promoting a global Government.  How’s that work for America?

In short,

  • Don’t believe what your left wing teachers told you your student loans paid for their prosperous life style.  Alinsky called students “useful idiots”… accurate for the many.
  • Don’t believe the Main Stream Media since they work for the government and not for you.  They protect Progressives by ignoring and by hiding their failures and crimes while shining the brightest light possible on any transgression of a Conservative and then attempt to paint them all with the same brush stroke.  That way, they have access to the powerful by going along to get along.
  • Don’t believe the bleeding heart arguments about minorities etc.  The Black Community has suffered more under Obama than any other and is worse off under his tenure.  The poverty levels within the Black Community through the last few decades under Democrat control saw rates increase from 11 to 15%. We don’t owe the Whites from Mexico any reparations.  Yes, they are whites and were always considered as much until the … you guessed it … the Progressives made up the term in order to divide Americans so they can slice off another base.  They will not fare any better than Blacks under Progressive Utopian rule.  Did we take their lands?  No, we fought off an evil dictator to free the land and its people.  Many Texas Mexicans fought with Sam Houston.  By the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidaldo we PAID $15 M for the land (that’s in 1840 dollars) and we RETURNED some of the land we controlled (we had armies which had moved deep into now current Mexico near Mexico City I believe) to establish essentially the current boundaries between the two countries.  But, it’s easier to tell someone of Mexican descent he had been cheated and a black that he is still viewed as a slave to get a vote than to acknowledge the truth. The Progressive manipulators in Colorado referred to Black Constituents as “idiots”. They will vote for the rhetoric while the substance is hidden from them.
  •  Always remember, as Ms. Rand stated, the smallest minority is the individual. The elites want to rule you en masse, as a Collective.  The rights you have will be the ones they grant to you and the ones they take away if you fall into disfavor. They will have the resources and you will have little opportunity so you’ll need to settle for what they give to you or fight your way out from an oppressive government who has stocked up on ammunition and drones plus militarized the local police.  What’s that about?
  • The 4 D’s: Deny, Deflect, Defy, Debase is the progressive/liberal/democrat mantra.“Therefore: If you like it, then vote for your Democrat. The fact of the matter is none of these Democrats that are running are moderates; they’re all radicals. None of them believe in small government. They all believe in massive centralized government. None of them believe in the working man and the citizens of this country. They spend more time worrying about illegal aliens and how they’re going to be taken care of and so forth and so on, the Democrat party is a disaster. It’s become a radical party. I have problems with the Republican party but the Democrat party really has lost its way and they need to get a good swift kick in the ass in this election.”

Mark Levin – Real Clear Politics – October 21, 2014

tSt a Few Final Comments: In the wake of a GOP wave election, it is time to focus on the meaning of this election and with it the opportunity — perhaps the last — to restore the Constitutional Republic of the United States and the individual freedoms it has provided to its citizens for over two centuries.  The Left through their lap dog media is claiming that the Voters were expressing a concern that DC was broken and that we wanted more compromise.  Notice that the Left eschewed every olive branch from the GOP, left 384 bills many of which were past with bipartisan support only to be left untouched by the Senate.  The Senate has not passed a budget in years.  Its sole purpose under Harry Reid was to pass extreme legislation by any means possible (Affordable Care Act through reconciliation also known as the nuclear option) and to protect President Obama while he issues executive orders to further his objective of fundamentally transforming America (his words).

Of course the LEFT wishes to “compromise” now since they lost power. Let’s say my house is worth $100,000 but I am asking $1,000,000.  I’d be willing to compromise on $500,000.  So true of Progressive Democrats. These are not your granddaddy’s Democrats with blue dogs and civil rights proponents.  These are the intelligentsia (just ask them) and world government proponents who wish to diminish the power of the United States by weakening us economically … middle class is reduced … and militarily so that our foreign policy is less effective. They have put us on the path of a more socialistic, statist government with more control by the ruling class and less freedoms for the individual citizens. They have used the “compromise” ploy to move us there.

The truth is that most voters reject the path the country is on that is, the current policies of President Obama.  They have seen that Obamacare was sold to the public on a series lies (keep your doctor, your plan and costs will go down).  The rich have gotten richer, the poor’s lot has not improved and the middle class is suffering economically.  This is on purpose.  The same is true for foreign policy where America’s influence of good in the world has been weakened and that vacuum filled with tyranny by the likes of ISIS, Iran, North Korea, China and an emboldened Russia. The truth is that most Americans want reversal of Obama’s policies not compromises which move us further left.  The “compromise” should come from the LEFT on issues which move the country back to the right.

May we have the strength to hold our elected officials accountable for their agenda.  For too long they have feathered their nests and become rich and secure (6 figure retirement incomes and on less than $200,000 per year salary many have become multi-millionaires).  How did we let this happen?  We paid too much attention to our careers and to supporting our families but not enough to what was happening in D.C. Now, our children and grandchildren are at risk of losing their freedoms. We need to try to turn the tide of Progressivism and buried it for good.

October, 2014

Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy’s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.

“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”

tSt Comment: With the impending November Elections, it is timely to remember who we are fighting.  The Alinski followers adhere to the anti-Judeo Christian mantra that the end justifies the means.  Just like their BFFs the Islamic Extremist, it is not only okay but morally justified to lie and to deceive your enemies be they Conservative, Infidels or both.

Thanks to Pat Snuffer for recycling this one my way.

Lies from the left – SEPTEMBER

President Obama has the Authority to commit the USA to a war against ISIL based upon the War Powers Act (Of course he doesn’t wish to call War, War)

“Only Congress has the authority to declare war. While our commander in chief has constitutional authority to respond to an imminent danger, President Obama has not suggested that is the case. He is reportedly planning a mission that could last as long as three years and may require a range of actions. Therefore, congressional authorization is required by the Constitution. Making this formal request would provide the President with an opportunity to present the American people with a clearly defined military objective, tethered to national security, to protect our nation and to unite everyone in the mission to eradicate ISIS.” — Senator Ted Cruz
Senator Ted Cruz Newsletter – September 19, 2014

tSt Comment: If he called his plan a war, Obama would have to go before Congress for a declaration of war. Or under the War Powers Act, he could order military actions for 60 days before getting congressional authorization for a longer operation.
It is ALL POLITICS. Since knowing that many Democrats up for reelection would not want to be on record of voting for or against such an authorization, Harry Reid will never bring it to a vote and absolutely never before an election in November.

Lies from the left (and the Establishment Right):

… we are doing what is best for the country because as some of the smartest, most well Ivy League educated (more like indoctrinated) persons in the country, we the ruling class know what  is best.

tSt:  hmmmm.  What this seems to imply is that since We The People are so pathetically uninformed and unable of critical thinking (that’s actually the Progressive’s base), then they can tell us anything to shut us up and then go about our business.

Perhaps one way to determine who are the “good guys (the few, the principled, the Poltical version of our military Marine Corp) is to look at talk versus action, honesty versus deceit and open communications versus shutting down free speech:

  • Global Warmist (Climate Changers) – you know the Gore/Obama/Biden et al types that private jet all over the world and then lecture the rest of us on how to reduce our carbon footprint.  If you respectfully (I’ve learned to stop this part) disagree, then you are an anti-Science Denier.  So it is alright for these politicians to have their multiple houses, SUVs, Gulf Streams etc. but YOU need to be the one to sacrifice for the “common good” (which actually is just another way to take your money and to put you in economic chains).  If you disagree with their falsified argument, then you are an anti-science buffoon.
  • Speaking of that, let’s take the inequality argument.  The 1% have too much you know, problem is most of the DC politicians are in the 1%.  So they’ll preach increasing the minimum wage but then travel the globe spending tax payer dollars on expensive vacations (your highness, Obama) or on lavish seminars (IRS comes immediately to mind).  They will enrich their crony capitalist buddies with political favors and awarded contracts.
  • They are for the law of the land (except when it applies to them).  It’s alright for illegal immigrant children (including violent gang members and even murderers) and to be schooled with our children … just not THEIR Children.  They defend the Undocumented Illegal as a hard working tax paying lot. In part that may be true but number one, they are here illegally. Secondly, I don’t believe that 6 year old child who we are about to educate at a cost significantly higher than the average American born child, has paid a dime in taxes.  I don’t believe what the illegal immigrant community has paid into the system comes close to the cost of government aid and increase costs of services to have multi-lingual personnel to support their needs.  So know, you the ruling classes are stealing from the hard working middle class to garner voted in the future from those made dependent by their policies.
  • If they hide from view what is really going on, then they are acting like only the Politicians and Political Class have a right to know They are treating the citizenry like children themselves.  Why aren’t camera allowed in the “collection centers”? Why are border agents told to shut up about what is really happening?  Why are they not forthcoming about who is coming into OUR country — the state of their health, ages, to whom they are being released etc. Because again, you are too stupid to understand and besides, they really know you won’t like the answers.  Disagree?  Then you hate children of Brown People (were not “browns” actually considered “whites” until Progressives actually created another racial class in order to divide us?).
  • A so-called Constitution law professor who constantly violates the law, abuses executive authority, undermines our allies and emboldens our enemies is what? A bad POTUS?  A Tyrannical POTUS? Well, don’t go there you racist, bigoted angry white person.

Time for a populist counter revolution of Conservative based ideas.

Got this from “Fred” the AARP guy that sends propaganda to me periodically and assumes all seniors are dope.

The purpose of his email entitled Party’s over for Medicare and Social Security? was to get you to sign a petition to Congress to “Tell Congress to Protest and to Strengthen” these two programs.  This from the organization which helped bring you Obamacare at a cost to Medicare.

tst Delicate Response:

Dear Fred,

My mother passed about 3 months ago.  Since then, I have received nothing but delays and excuses from AARP/MET LIFE for her LT Care Policy.  It seems now you are asking for a ridiculous amount of information in order not to pay a $2000 claim after collecting 10 times that much over the decades my dead mother paid so her kids wouldn’t be burdened with her care.

You are a despicable organization which preys on the elderly.  You tell them that Obamacare is good for them even though Millions are taken out of Medicare, a program on which they rely.  So you want to attack folks who are trying to save the systems and programs after the likes of you are making them insolvent.

Fred, there is a God and he’ll be waiting for you and your AARP buddies on the other side.

Barack Obama is the smartest person in the room.

tSt:  Well, this isn’t a complete LIE since the only folks in that room are sycophantic “yes people” all with degrees from that water down, over-rated “Ivy League”. So he’s top of the food chain in a room that wants to put you all in chains.
It takes a Village to raise a child (and our experts will take it from here).

tSt:  No it simply takes parents who make a difference for the good in their children’s lives:

In Memory of Julia Battaglia

Julia, – Julie to siblings, MOM to her children and MOMO (so named by her first Grandson Philip James) to her Grandkids and Great Grandchildren – was born July 2nd, 1918 in Hallettsville, TX.  She grew up in Lavaca County. This simply means she knew the difference between a Kolache and a Pig-In-The Blanket.  She was fiercely independent, strong in her beliefs and a deeply private person but she was very considerate of others, patient with us all and very congenial to those she met.

If she could say some last words to us, she would thank us all:

  • Thanks to her friends, relatives and extended family for all the prayers and support they gave to her
  • Thanks to her doctors and caregivers who treated her illnesses and her debilitations with compassion and respect
  • Thanks to her grandkids and great grandchildren for the joy they gave to her; she was so proud of each of them
  • Thanks to her son-in-law for making the trips from Austin to help her around the house and to be with her
  • Thanks to her daughter-in-law who helped with her medical needs, provided care and guided her physician support
  • Thanks to her children for their love, their emotional support and financial management and their frequent visits in her hours of need.

But we honor Julia for it is all of us who should thank her.  Julia provided us with love and with wisdom.  She was our model for living life with character and with grace.   As her children, much of what is good in us can be directly attributed to our mom.

Julia left us on May 21, 2014.  It is painful for us to let her go but now she is without pain.  We are thankful for that and we are thankful she was in our lives.  We are so proud she was our Mom, our Momo.

- The Family of Julia Battaglia

I. “I think anytime our men and women in uniform are not served in a manner they deserve, you could perhaps call it ‘a scandal,’ because it’s scandalous. “Whether its ‘a scandal’ with intention and the rest of that the evidence remains to be seen.” Nancy Pelosi House MINORITY Leader

tSt Retort:  Thus the Progressives continue to play word games to create Relativism and thus avoid any meaningful dialogue about issues.  You can only be a “racist” if you are white, American Indians get a pass   on killing bald eagles and Illegal Aliens are simply Undocumented workers. Changing the definition of words may hide the offence but it does not change the fact that Progressives are inherently corrupt and inanely nefarious.

II. The Left CLAIMS: Citizens in civilaized countries have nothing to fear from Big Government which is there to serve the greater good unlike the times in which our Founders lived.

tSt:‘Er how about Obama’s Directive No. 3025.18, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities,” (issued Dec. 29, 2010), “U.S. commanders are provided emergency authority under this directive.”

“Federal military forces shall not be used to quell civil disturbances unless specifically authorized by the president in accordance with applicable law or permitted under emergency authority,”…

“In these circumstances, those federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances”.

… “to prevent significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property and are necessary to restore governmental function and public order.”.. “(when local authorities) are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for federal property or federal governmental functions.”…

“Federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the federal property or functions,”

“Well, it’s not over. We can’t have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it. So it’s not over,” … Sen Harry Reid – D NV – Senate MAJORITY Leader

tSt Retort:  How revealing a simple statement can be.  It’s OK for Harry and the Democrats to violate laws … illegal gun running, ignoring immigration laws, illegally targeting Conservative Groups via the IRS, illegal wiretapping, ignoring COURT ORDERS (Yucca Mountain nuclear waste site in NV) … but not Bundy whose family has used this grazing land for over a century.

Bundy’s flaws are that he doesn’t contribute to Reid’s re-election fund, he isn’t going to enrich the Senator with millions off some nefarious solar deal and he’s merely a cowboy and not a cowboy  poet. Plus, he made some inflammatory racist comments which doesn’t help his cause. HOWEVER,  FREEDOM OF SPEECH NO MATTER HOW OFFENSIVE IS PROTECTED BY THE FIRST AMENDMENT (IT’S FIRST FOR A REASON).

Anything Liberals disagree with is now hate speech. Liberals have lost their way because they are defining terms to divide us into groups to whom they can politically appeal. Browns (this was a Progressives term, since Hispanics previously were considered white), Facebook now has 50 gender types (what?), and prayer in the public square is Anti- American.

Back to the point at hand. We (who is WE Harry – the Progressive Political Elite in D.C.) can’t have an American people violate the law. Is the law unjust? Unwarranted?  Did not Americans ignore   Prohibition? Was not our country founded by individuals willing to risk it all against tyrannical laws          and taxation? It was founded on the premise of individual rights and small government. A small government cannot abuse people, put them in slavery, demand what kind of schools to have (segregated, or all public and no charter or …) or send the Gestapo BLM into to collect  a debt.

Reid is a Politician’s Politician … a Progressives’ Progressive — in short, a Crook’s Crook.  It’s not over Harry!!!

Our government represents the will of the people and the Progressives are the good stewards of Individual Liberty and an ever growing list of “rights.”

Widening Gap Between Public Will, Government Action

Robert W. Merry March 24, 2014

Robert W. Merry is political editor of National Interest

“When cometh the political volcano? When does an American politician emerge to lead his country’s citizens on an assault against an out-of-control government? When will the nation’s leaders in Washington begin to craft and tailor their policies and activities once again to public opinion in the land?

In other words, when will the American people rise up politically with a full-throated cry of “Give us back our democracy?” That, incidentally, is one of the most powerful recurrent themes of our history…

This can’t go on forever. Either the people will rise up, through the democratic tools bequeathed to them, and take power back from an out-of-control managerial class, or we shall enter a long and dark process of serious democratic erosion.”

tSt Add-On: Merry illustrates through 3 polls how the will of the American People is being ignored and subverted:

  • Pew survey in which 56 percent of respondents said it was more important not to get involved there than to take a firm stand against Russian actions while only 29% were for firm action … yet the Ukraine crisis was a result at least in part from meddling by our State Dept.
  • A Washington Post poll indicated fully 66 percent of Americans are concerned “about the collection and use of [their] personal information” by the NSA. Similar results emerged from a Pew poll, and an AP survey indicated that 60 percent of respondents opposed NSA data collection about Americans’ phone and Internet usage. Obama give lip service to reigning in the NSA but I effect does nothing
  • May 2013 QuinnipiacUniversity poll at the height of the Internal Revenue Service scandal, in which high-ranking IRS officials were accused of thwarting political activity by opponents of the Obama administration. According to congressional investigative reports, these officials singled out for bureaucratic runarounds particular nonprofit organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status. The aim, in the view of many, was to sideline such groups during the 2012 elections.

The Quinnipiac poll showed that 76 percent of respondents wanted the matter turned over to an independent “special counsel” for a full and impartial investigation. To this day that has not been done!

Either rise up or get run over by these ba$t@rds

Global warming is real … it’s settled science and to ignore it will be cataclysmic.

Ted Cruz: “The last 15 years, there has been no recorded warming. Contrary to all the theories that – that they are expounding, there should have been warming over the last 15 years. It hasn’t happened, …
Other parts (than the Artic) are going up… you always have to be worried about something that is considered a so-called scientific theory that fits every scenario. Climate change, as they have defined it, can never be disproved, because whether it gets hotter or whether it gets colder, whatever happens, they’ll say, well, it’s changing, so it proves our theory …

I am always troubled by a theory that fits every perfect situation. You know, back in the ’70s – I remember the ’70s, we were told there was global cooling. And everyone was told global cooling was a really big problem. And then that faded. And then we were told by Al Gore and others there was global warming and that was going to be a big problem. And then it morphed. It wasn’t global warming anymore, it became climate change. And the problem with climate change is there’s never been a day in the history of the world in which the climate is not changing,”

On CNN February 20th, 2014

tSt Add-On: What he said and I notice that Mr. Gore bought a $5M property in the middle of what would be a lake once the polar ice caps melted.  Is he lying or just ignorant?  I’m goin’ with both.

… Following the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence report on the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya which concluded that the attack, which resulted in the murder of four Americans, was “preventable” the Progressives are suggesting that the blame for the Benghazi tragedy lies at least in part with Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was killed in the attack.

tSt: What a crock.  The blame lies entirely with Washington. Stevens’ requests for additional security were denied or ignored. Officials at the State and Defense Departments in Washington made the decisions that resulted in reduced security. All signs pointed to an increase in a security threat especially on 9/11. I seldom agree with him but Sen. Lindsey Graham stated on the Senate floor that Ambassador Chris Stevens “was in Benghazi because that is where he was supposed to be doing what America wanted him to do: Try to hold Libya together.” … “Quit blaming the dead guy.” These amoral progressives will do and say anything to cover their collective arses.  What a pathetic illustration of how corrupt and ruthless our leadership has become.

… The Progressives tell you that Christmas sayings and themes can be offensive to non-Christians so there should be none of that displayed particularly publicly

He// Yea it’s OK to Say Merry Christmas & when some controlling SOB or @itch (and I mean that in a Kind and Loving YuleTide sort of way) then refer them to the LAW — In Texas anyway.

“(TheTexas) ‘Merry Christmas Law’ is backed by social conservatives who feel that seasonal religious festivities have come under attack because of political correctness. It also covers the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah, which ended earlier this month.

“We hope to see fewer school districts being naughty and more districts being nice,” said conservative activist Jonathan Saenz …

The measure, passed nearly unanimously by theTexaslegislature this year, allows students and district staff to “offer traditional greetings regarding celebrations, including ‘Merry Christmas,’ ‘Happy Hanukkah’ and ‘Happy Holidays.’”

It also allows teachers and students to sing Christmas songs, erect Christmas trees, holiday decorations and nativity scenes, as long as they do not include a “message that encourages adherence to a particular religion’s belief.”

Supporters said some schools have dropped Christmas celebrations in favor of things such as non-religious winter festivities out of regard for the feeling of students who are not Christian.

Saenz said the law does not specifically cover the festivities of other major religions such as Islam or Buddhism, but students of other faiths who find their traditions being censored can seek support under the law.

“It is Christmas activities that are being attacked over and over again,” Saenz said

Jim Forsyth/Reuters 12/10/2013

tSt: Nota Bene, we are a Judeo-Christian culture and a VERY TOLERANT at that.  Problem is the so called ‘tolerant” Left turns its secular superiority against Christians and thus are preventing basic celebrations of our most solemn traditions.  Why don’t you go to IRAN and tell them that prayer rugs offend you and should be band and see how you are treated there Mr. & Mrs. Humbug Correct.  Otherwise from TEXAS — HOPE EVERYONE HAD A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

… the Next Time some Lib or Hispanic activist claims that Mexico was stolen from them, refer them to the TREATY of Guadalupe-Hildago.

Teaching With Documents:
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (gwah-dah-loop-ay ee-dahl-go), which brought an official end to the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) was signed on February 2, 1848, at Guadalupe Hidalgo, a city north of the capital where the Mexican government had fled with the advance of U.S. forces. To explore the circumstances that led to this war with Mexico, visit the Teaching with Documents lesson, “Lincoln’s Spot Resolutions.”

With the defeat of its army and the fall of the capital, Mexico City, in September 1847 the Mexican government surrendered to the United States and entered into negotiations to end the war. The peace talks were negotiated by Nicholas Trist, chief clerk of the State Department, who had accompanied General Winfield Scott as a diplomat and President Polk’s representative. Trist and General Scott, after two previous unsuccessful attempts to negotiate a treaty with Santa Anna, determined that the only way to deal with Mexico was as a conquered enemy. Nicholas Trist negotiated with a special commission representing the collapsed government led by Don Bernardo Couto, Don Miguel Atristain, and Don Luis Gonzaga Cuevas of Mexico.

In The Mexican War, author Otis Singletary states that President Polk had recalled Trist under the belief that negotiations would be carried out with a Mexican delegation in Washington. In the six weeks it took to deliver Polk’s message, Trist had received word that the Mexican government had named its special commission to negotiate. Against the president’s recall, Trist determined that Washington did not understand the situation in Mexico and negotiated the peace treaty in defiance of the president. In a December 4, 1847, letter to his wife, he wrote, “Knowing it to be the very last chance and impressed with the dreadful consequences to our country which cannot fail to attend the loss of that chance, I decided today at noon to attempt to make a treaty; the decision is altogether my own.”

In Defiant Peacemaker: Nicholas Trist in the Mexican War, author Wallace Ohrt described Trist as uncompromising in his belief that justice could be served only by Mexico’s full surrender, including surrender of territory. Ignoring the president’s recall command with the full knowledge that his defiance would cost him his career, Trist chose to adhere to his own principles and negotiate a treaty in violation of his instructions. His stand made him briefly a very controversial figure in the United States.

Under the terms of the treaty negotiated by Trist, Mexico ceded to the United States Upper California and New Mexico. This was known as the Mexican Cession and included present-day Arizona and New Mexico and parts of Utah, Nevada, and Colorado (see Article V of the treaty). Mexico relinquished all claims to Texas and recognized the Rio Grande as the southern boundary with the United States (see Article V).

The United States paid Mexico $15,000,000 “in consideration of the extension acquired by the boundaries of the United States” (see Article XII of the treaty) and agreed to pay American citizens debts owed to them by the Mexican government (see Article XV). Other provisions included protection of property and civil rights of Mexican nationals living within the new boundaries of the United States (see Articles VIII and IX), the promise of the United States to police its boundaries (see Article XI), and compulsory arbitration of future disputes between the two countries (see Article XXI).

Trist sent a copy to Washington by the fastest means available, forcing Polk to decide whether or not to repudiate the highly satisfactory handiwork of his discredited subordinate. Polk chose to forward the treaty to the Senate. When the Senate reluctantly ratified the treaty (by a vote of 34 to 14) on March 10, 1848, it deleted Article X guaranteeing the protection of Mexican land grants. Following the ratification, U.S. roops were removed from the Mexican capital.

To carry the treaty into effect, commissioner Colonel Jon Weller and surveyor Andrew Grey were appointed by theUnited States government and General Pedro Conde and Sr. Jose Illarregui were appointed by the Mexican government to survey and set the boundary. A subsequent treaty of December 30, 1853, altered the border from the initial one by adding 47 more boundary markers to the original six. Of the 53 markers, the majority were rude piles of stones; a few were of durable character with proper inscriptions.

Over time, markers were moved or destroyed, resulting in two subsequent conventions (1882 and 1889) between the two countries to more clearly define the boundaries. Photographers were brought in to document the location of the markers. These photographs are in Record Group 77, Records of the Office of the Chief Engineers, in the National Archives. An example of one of these photographs, taken in the 1890s, is available online through the Online Catalog (OPA) database, National Archives Identifier: 519681.

… and Lies from the Right (sort of Right, kinda)

Sent to GOP Senators who turned on Conservatives in the House and in the Senate during the CR and Debt Ceiling struggle:

I see you helped Mitch get $3B for selling Conservatives out. What’d you get? Enough to buy bullets to continue to shoot your Conservative GOP Colleagues in the back? It wasn’t the wrong strategy; we had the wrong team members. The Senate Republicans that were too weak-kneed to stand with Sen. Cruz and the House GOP have just destroyed the party.

Obamacare is destroying the middle class, is transferring enormous power to the federal government … a government which rewards its supporters and punishes its detractors. Death panels anyone?  If you can’t deliver that message, it is clear we need new Messengers.

NEVER AGAIN will I donate to the GOP … NEVER. All my $2-3K per year will go to individual campaigns to help defeat get along selfish politicians like you. You DO NOT REPRESENT THE GRASSROOTS but your cronies in Big Business and in Politics. Disgraceful.

tSt Additional Comments: THE DEMS have leaders with relentless energy to permanently change this country and create a ruling class.  The GOP has “leaders” like McConnell, Cornyn and McCain who are simply big government types who refuse to fight for the American People.  The Progressives were willing to drive us passed the debt ceiling to win …. GOP Senate caved as always.  COWARDS ALL!

Cruz Strategy Undercut by GOP Anti-Cruz Signals

Breitbart, Big Government — October 16, 2013

Ben Shapiro

EXCERPTS: The question … is whether Cruz’s strategy ever could have worked at all. The original strategy, to fund the government in whole except for Obamacare, then attempt to create public pressure to force a Democratic Senate and President Obama to acquiesce in defunding, came under heavy scrutiny from the start. … In any game of chicken, the winner must publicly demonstrate his or her willingness to place a cinder block on the accelerator – an act President Obama took early by stating that he would never negotiate on the debt ceiling or the continuing resolution.

There was no such resolution on the Republican side of the aisle. On September 27, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) said, “This exercise will not achieve the goal … I do question whether the outcome is going to be what [Cruz] is promising the people which is impossible as long as Democrats control two out of the three bodies of government.” … to think other than he did was “not rational.” … “I will again state unequivocally that this is not something that we can succeed in, and that’s defunding Obamacare…” On October 11, he called defunding “a fool’s errand” and suggested it was “not achievable.” McCain … in March … referred to Cruz and others including Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) as “wacko birds on the right” – put him in the position of undercutting whatever leverage Republicans had from the start. Democrats could sense weakness from the outset, and never had an incentive to cave.

In the House, the story was similar with Rep. Peter King (R-NY), who said that Cruz was on a “maniacal crusade,” … “No one has done more to strengthen Obamacare than Ted Cruz.” Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) likewise accused Cruz of “refusing to fight” in mid-September when Cruz launched his speech designed to sink the House continuing resolution that would have allowed the Senate to strip language defunding Obamacare.

The question was not whether those opposed to Cruz’s strategy were in favor of Obamacare – Republicans are still united around opposition to Obamacare. The question is whether once that strategy was engaged, undercutting it by signaling repeatedly that Republicans would not carry the fight through sank any chance of real concessions from President Obama and Democrats. Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker suggested in a recent column that Tea Partiers were “shoot-now-take-names-later” Sonny Corleone types, and that the establishment legislators were “cooler-headed son and intellectual strategist” Michael Corleone. The better Godfather analogy is the reverse: Cruz and company were, for better or worse, the architects of a strategy already in play, the Don Corleones of this particularly scenario; establishment Republicans were along for the ride. But, like Sonny in front of Virgil Sollozzo, establishment Republicans spoke out of turn. And that allowed the Democrats – Sollozzo – the opportunity to take out the leader and hope to deal with those left intact. That strategy bore fruit.

President Obama blamed the fractious Republican coalition for failing to come to an agreement earlier. But the truth is that it was the fractiousness of that coalition that led to Wednesday’s cave. Benjamin Franklin once said, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.” Or, as Don Corleone once put it, “Never tell anyone outside the family what you are thinking again.”

NOTE – Friday 9/27/13 @ about noon Central: Cornyn supports Cloture along with 67 other Senators to in essense side with the Progressives to permit 51 votes to defeat the Defunding Bill.  Then our beloved Senator who keeps his Healthcare, gives a lame 2 minute speech, which he knows will do no good, in stopping the funding of Obamacare — a law the Progressives already have said is but a step to a single payer, socialized medical system.  The vote WAS LOST 54 TO 44 (2 GOPers DIDN’T EVEN VOTE!) CR until 11/15/13 passed by same margin.

Thanks John, nice whipping of votes.

Here’s the background over the last week.

ObamaCare hasn’t even fully taken effect, but already Americans are feeling its negative effects.

Employers in Texas and across the country have been forced to lay off workers or slash their hours to avoid facing financial penalties that could cripple their already-struggling businesses.

In short, as one of its chief authors said recently, ObamaCare is a “train wreck.”

That’s why I’ve voted more than 40 times to repeal, delay, defund, and dismantle it. And that’s why I’ll vote in favor of the House bill to defund it again this week.

Tell me what you think: Will you support my vote to defund ObamaCare?

Phil, I don’t have to remind you that times are hard for many people in Texas and across the country. And ObamaCare will only make them harder.

In fact, individuals and families have already begun receiving letters from their insurance companies stating that health plans they like – plans President Obama said they could keep – will no longer be available.

As your Senator, it’s my job to vote to protect the interests of my constituents. I believe that voting to Defund ObamaCare is the right thing to do.

Do you agree? Vote HERE.

Thanks for your continued support. I look forward to continuing to fight together.

Senator John Cornyn

P.S. I need to know what you think.

Do you agree with my decision to vote to Defund ObamaCare?

Please take a moment and vote here to let me know if you support taking this stand against the president’s destructive legislation.

If you sign the Petition, you are then asked to donate $5 or more (a sleezy way of getting contributions for his reelection which the way he’s voting, he’ll need.

The following morning, this comes out on Breitbart in an article by Mike Flynn:

“Monday evening (09/23/13), GOP Minority Leader announced that he would oppose a proposed filibuster from Sens. Cruz and Lee to block the House Continuing Resolution from reaching the Senate floor. McConnell’s opposition was echoed by John Cornyn, number 2 in GOP Leadership, and Sen. Cruz’s colleague from Texas. The move by McConnell and Cornyn virtually assures that the Senate will begin consideration of the House bill later this week. …
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid needs the support of 6 Republican Senators to defeat any filibuster undertaken by Sens. Cruz and Lee, assuming he has the votes of his entire caucus. The decision by McConnell and Cornyn to vote against a filibuster ensures that Reid will have the Republican votes he needs to move forward with the bill.”

TSt Email to Senator Cornyn’s Office:

I received your signed email on Defunding Obamacare last evening.  Please tell me you have not just misled your constituency with a trick or Double Speak.  Yes Defund It and start by requiring 60 votes to proceed.  You asked for my support  and a donation) last night, but now I see this article.

There is this disturbing report this very morning:

I attempted to contact your offices but all mailboxes and the like were full or staff attending to other calls.  I suspect I am not the only one upset by this development.

Texans sent Sen Cruz to DC to do a job.  We expect you to support this effort fully.  It is a defining moment because you either side with Party Establishment or with The People.

My vote and the 12 members of my family along with our political contributions in the future will be greatly influenced by how this issue is treated NOW. You are up for reelection next year and we will not forget how you handle this urgent manner.

Thank you,

Phil, Republicans are united against ObamaCare. All we need now is FIVE Democrat votes.

This is the best chance we’ve had to Defund ObamaCare since it was forced down the throats of the American people in 2010.

Please help us spread the word and demand that vulnerable Democrats save their constituents – and the rest ofAmerica- from this incredibly destructive and unpopular law.

Share the graphic above with all of your friends on Facebook and please ask them to do the same.

Americamust know the truth. Democrats caused this problem, now they have a chance to fix their mistake.

Let them know we’re watching.

Senator John Cornyn

P.S. Help us pressure Red State Democrats to vote with their constituents – and the rest ofAmerica- by voting against funding for ObamaCare.

Excuse me but actually to “WIN” you ONLY need Republicans (41 of the 46 Elected to represent us if all 100 Senators vote) … if you vote against Cloture. Then the DEMs would have to shut it (the Federal Government) down. If you cannot message that then perhaps we need a new messenger.
VOTE AGAINST CLOTURE. Otherwise, you and your associates effectively are funding and implementing Obamacare … don’t blame the DEMs, blame the weak-kneed GOPers. With all due respect, we are no longer the uninformed masses and procedural chicanery does not impress us.

We will be watching your vote, Sir.  The vote to defund is ONLY MEANINGFUL IF CLOTURE IS DEFEATED. The Eyes of the Awakened Citizens of the Great State of Texas are upon you, Sir.

For the Children and the Future ofTexas,

“Partly blaming the health law, United Parcel Service (UPS) is set to remove thousands of spouses from its medical plan because they are eligible for coverage elsewhere.”

tSt Comment: UPS is obviously lying since our Dear Leader promised us if we like the Heathcare plan we are on, then we can keep it.  Lying, greedy Capitalists!

“The Housing Market crisis, caused by the GOP, is over thanks to President Obama and home ownership is on the upswing:”

tSt (with assistance from T. Brown):

Government goal under Jimmy Carter, 1977 – increase home ownership particularly among minorities who Democrats declare are being discriminated against.

Government to the rescue:  Enacted the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) to address deteriorating conditions of low income areas in American Cities. Problem was that there were severe shortages of credit available to low- and moderate-income neighborhoods particularly among minorities.  It was determined that African Americans received less favorable terms such as higher down payments (perhaps because of lower credit scores due to repayment histories?).  Of course this was labeled as “discrimination” in the housing market.  Thus, “Congress included little prescriptive detail and simply directs the banking regulatory agencies to ensure that banks and savings associations serve the credit needs of their local communities in a safe and sound manner …Wikipedia).  Over the decades, communities slowly started to exploit this legislation and additional regulations were passed to “encourage” home mortgage lenders to get with the program and to fund housing in areas in which they operated. Additional legislation was passed to foster this activity … among the leaders was Ben Bernake.

Result:  … qualification requirements for loans were severely lowered and the no doc subprime market was created.  Many loans began to be defaulted on in 2006. By 2007 we had a market crash.  The bank bailouts ensued.  Banks had packages these toxic assets in bundles with other loans and sold them to the secondary market.  Heavy losses followed in these markets as foreclosures skyrocket. SHOCKING!

Government to the rescue: Government blames banks for what happened (really it was a cooperative effort). It bails banks out on the one hand then later fines them with the other.  In order to make sure that banks do not lower their lending standard once again, Dodd Frank is passed with the provision that the banks must maintain at least 5% of their loans so that they maintain some risks for their lending policies.

Results: Not being complete idiots, the banks squeeze down on their qualifications and thus much fewer but higher quality mortgages are issues.  Some first time buyers can take advantage of lower rates (and a lot of refinancing went on as well) but these are in the vast minority.  What happened to all those foreclosures?  Well, a few individual home buyers and many individual step into the foreclosure market.  However, their impact is moderate.  Large Hedge Funds like Blackrock step in and buy packages of foreclosures, then invest in repairs and offer for rental/lease. Thus, home sales are up but many of these are purchased to lease. THEREFORE ALTHOUGH THE HOUSING MARKET IS IMPROVING ACTUAL PERCENTAGES OF HOME OWNERSHIP IS DROPPING!

Government to the rescue: Repeal of those sections of Dodd-Frank which require banks to retain 5% of its loan and once again encourage lower standards for home loans.  WAALLLAA – back to where we started under Carter.

Circle Complete … way to go DEMs

This says it so very well and I will defer the opening comment provided by T Brown (Thanks from tSt)

The Architect of Destruction

Barack Obama appears to be a tormented man filled with resentment, anger, and disdain for anyone of an opinion or view other than his. He acts in the most hateful, spiteful, malevolent, vindictive ways in order to manipulate and maintain power and control over others. Perhaps, because, as a child, he grew up harboring an abiding bitterness toward the U.S. that was instilled in him by his family and mentors…it seems to have never left him.

It is not the color of his skin that is a problem in America .

Rather it is the blackness that fills his soul and the hollowness in his heart where there should be abiding pride and love for this country.

Think: Have we ever heard Obama speak lovingly of the U.S. or its people, with deep appreciation and genuine respect for our history, our customs, our sufferings and our blessings? Has he ever revealed that, like most patriotic Americans, he gets “goose bumps” when a band plays “The Star Spangled Banner,” or sheds a tear when he hears a beautiful rendition of ” America the Beautiful?” Does his heart burst with pride when millions of American flags wave on a National holiday – or someone plays “taps” on a trumpet? Has he ever shared the admiration of the military, as we as lovers of those who keep us free, feel when soldiers march by? It is doubtful because Obama did not grow up sharing our experiences or our values. He did not sit at the knee of a Grandfather or Uncle who showed us his medals and told us about the bravery of his fellow troops as they tramped through foreign lands to keep us free.. He didn’t have grandparents who told stories of suffering and then coming to America , penniless, and the opportunities they had for building a business and life for their children.

Away from this country as a young child, Obama didn’t delight in being part of America and its greatness. He wasn’t singing our patriotic songs in kindergarten, or standing on the roadside for a holiday parade and eating a hot dog, or lighting sparklers around a campfire on July 4th as fireworks exploded over head, or placing flags on the grave sites of fallen and beloved American heroes.

Rather he was separated from all of these experiences and doesn’t really understand us and what it means to be an American. He is void of the basic emotions that most feel regarding this country and insensitive to the instinctive pride we have in our national heritage. His opinions were formed by those who either envied us or wanted him to devalue the United States and the traditions and patriotism that unites us.

He has never given a speech that is filled with calm, reassuring, complimentary, heartfelt statements about all the people in the U.S. Or one that inspires us to be better and grateful and proud that in a short time our country became a leader, and a protector of many. Quite the contrary, his speeches always degenerate into mocking, ridiculing tirades as he faults our achievements as well as any critics or opposition for the sake of a laugh, or to bolster his ego. He uses his Office to threaten and create fear while demeaning and degrading any American who opposes his policies and actions. A secure leader, who has noble self-esteem and not false confidence, refrains from showing such dread of critics and displaying a cocky, haughty attitude.

Mostly, his time seems to be spent causing dissension, unrest, and anxiety among the people of America , rather than uniting us (even though he was presented to us as the “Great Uniter”). He creates chaos for the sake of keeping people separated, envious, aggrieved and ready to argue. Under his leadership Americans have been kept on edge, rather than in a state of comfort and security. He incites people to be aggressive toward, and disrespectful of, those of differing opinions. And through such behavior, Obama has lowered the standards for self-control and mature restraint to the level of street-fighting gangs, when he should be raising the bar for people to strive toward becoming more considerate, tolerant, self-disciplined, self-sustaining, and self-assured.

Not a day goes by that he is not attempting to defy our laws, remove our rights, over-ride established procedures, install controversial appointees, enact divisive mandates, and assert a dictatorial form of power.

・       Never has there been a leader of this great land who used such tactics to harm and hurt the people and this country.

・       Never have we had a President who spoke with a caustic, evil tongue against the citizenry rather than present himself as a soothing, calming and trustworthy force.

・       Never, in this country, have we experienced how much stress one man can cause a nation of people – on a daily basis!

Obama has promoted the degeneration of peace, civility, and quality of cooperation between us. He thrives on tearing us down, rather than building us up. He is the Architect of the decline of America , and the epitome of a Demagogue.

Don’t put up with this feigned outrage from the Black Community on the ginned up emotions by the likes of Jackson and Sharpton on the Zimmerman verdict. THEY ARE THE RACISTS.  A Rasmussen poll indicated even blacks themselves thought they were more racists than whites.

Plus, Zimmerman is a Hispanic so that screws everything up.  White Hispanic is a coined term for a social and political reason.  A believe that Hispanics/Latinos are white but the LEFT, in their ever vigilant method of dividing us, came up with the “brown” designation.  Just Progressive racism.

I truly feel compassion for Trayvon Martin’s parents.  I believe they displayed a lot of class after the loss of their son.  It is a tragedy albeit not a crime.

Zimmerman exercised poor judgment leaving his truck whether to look for Trayvon or to determine an address.  This was NOT a crime.  It is like an officer telling you to turn down the volume on your radio when driving and to put on your seatbelt.  Although both may be sound advice, the former is not a legal requirement while the latter is.  However, the act of leaving his vehicle could be construed as Zimmerman being the aggressor.

As it turns out, Martin laid in wait for over 4 minutes for Zimmerman (another poor judgment).  He could have been home. This flips the aggressor argument.  Since Martin had no marks on him, he threw the first punch (unless Zimmerman did and whiffed).  If Zimmerman was being beaten severely by Martin, then he indeed could fear for his life and use deadly force.

The combination of these two acts of poor judgment led to this tragedy.  Zimmerman had at least as much right to pursue as Martin did for being where he was that night.

I have empathy for the Martin family but I do believe Justice was done.

RUBIO’S IMMIGRATION DECEPTION TO CONSERVATIVES: Rubio’s claim of enforcement ‘triggers’ is a dishonest argument. His amnesty scheme is chock full of deception with many behind the scene maneuvers all designed to obfuscate truth. The bill makes America less safe, not more.

Rubio’s scheme allows illegal aliens to be legalized immediately. All at a huge cost to the US taxpayer [Note] and sovereignty of our nation. Like Obamacare, the legislation was crafted behind closed doors with pro-amnesty lobbyists, unions, immigration lawyers, and Progressive groups like La Raza and AFL-CIO representing illegal aliens. Groups that stand to make millions from this legislation.

The traitor is the plague.”

Collectivism holds that, in human affairs, the collective—society, the community, the nation, the proletariat, the race, etc.—is the unit of reality and the standard of value. On this view, the individual has reality only as part of the group, and value only insofar as he serves it.

Reid: Gun Control “More Important Than Preventing Imagined Tyranny”

tSt: Gun Rights most important to deterring ACTUAL Tyranny

Chris Hayes: “Why Do We Care About Terrorism More Than Gun Deaths?”

tSt: Well Chris, likely because although there certainly are deaths caused by guns — you seem to think the Gun simply attaches itself to a deranged human host and then starts shooting — there likely are many more lives actually saved by guns which go unreported.  Could it be that someone was not killed with say a knife because the potential victim had a gun … didn’t use it other than as a deterrent?

However, Terrorist strike the innocent and target our freedoms and liberties (been to an airport since 911 et al?).  That’s why we care.  We care about the innocent and we care about the American way of live … thus, no wonder you don’t “get it”.

MELISSA HARRIS PERRY:“We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we’ve always had a private notion of children, your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children.

So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.

Once it’s everybody’s responsibility and not just the household’s we start making better investments.”

tSt: When you hear about “the collective” this is the logical progression of that ideology and you end up with we are all the same … not equal in terms of rights or opportunity, but the same (except of course the ruling class which shovels this stench).  Thus, we should share or have the same … everything.  Our children belong to the society and that society doles out what its members shall share.  Government housing for everyone along with food stamps and Obama phones.  Obamacare is the rationing center and life begins at birth and ends at 78.

This is where the Obamaites want us to go.  Good luck America since likely 2/3s of the population couldn’t tell you what the difference is between and Constitutional representative government and a Democracy much less who is Secretary of State and what a Progressive is … Good Bye if we don’t take it back from these Communists (yes, little darling, that’s the source of Collectivism).

Obama: “My goal is not to chase a balanced budget just for the sake of balance. My goal is how do we grow the economy, put people back to work, and if we do that we are going to be bringing in more revenue,” in an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.

tSt:  His goal is not to “balance the budget” because that would mean paring down the size of government and the free stuff he can dole out for votes.  Note “Balance” in not necessary for the budget but “Balance” is required when it means more taxes to go along with any spending cuts. He fosters the notion of stealing from the doers to give to the takers for their foolish votes.

Our Constitution recognizes that Governments’ tendencies were/are to control.  The ruling class by nature will impose its will on the populous … simply because it CAN usurp the rights of The People. It also recognizes that mankind wants to be free.  These two are at odds and the Constitution sought to provide a weak structure of government and always with the weight towards the individual and his rights and liberties. Therefore, the Right to Bear Arms was provided as a measure for the Citizen to protect himself and his property against the encroachments not only of other citizens but more importantly, against its government.

Any “attack” on our inalienable, God given rights could be thwarted by the armed citizenry.  Our Progressive elements would have us believe that the world has “progressed” since then and we have nothing to fear from modern, benevolent government.  Very recent history, worldwide, proves that nothing has changed, other than technology, and the scale on which rights can be violated. Syria and Libya come to mind.  Recent history also illustrates that mass uprisings of citizens, using mainly light weapons, can thwart even the most well armed militaries. In fact, a signature of tyranny is disarmament of the citizenry, which serves to make the violation of rights much easier.  Does anyone believe that the fellow in the White House is anything other than a modern day tyrant?  He may not be gassing his own People (yet) but he is intent on eliminating every individual right that he can.

To point, our Progressive politicians along with their thug Labor allies, tree huggers and other assorted useful idiots, often argue against American Exceptionalism.  As Obama said, the Greeks see themselves as exceptional as well thereby diminishing the American experiment.  Conversely, these Progressives want us to believe that America is exceptional in the sense that our government does not have the potential for tyranny, which would thereby necessitate a violent rebuke. Therefore, hence, thus … we should disarm ourselves and let the benevolent Government handle the hardware.

The “pro” argument for assault weapons (a Progressive Political term) is to kill or to repel people that threaten your life, liberty and property whether they are criminals or more alarmingly, government forces. “Few governments in history have had faith enough in its citizenry to let it remain effectively armed, but then again, even fewer have had the faith needed to let men govern themselves.” I am for an armed Citizenry … preferably, HEAVILY ARMED.

“We got an obligation to give our police officers and our communities the tools they need to make some of the same progress that’s been made here in Minneapolis. There won’t be perfect solutions, we’re not going to save every life, but we can make a difference. And that’s our responsibility as Americans. That’s what I’ll do every single day as long as I’ve got the honor of serving as your president, …

The POTUS claiming he has compromised with the GOP House and met them more than have way (Higher tax rates on those earning more than $250K now has Obama at $400K v $1M for Boehner and some Democrats including Chuck Schumer).  Now we can deal with spending cuts later.  Now, the Progressives have no morals since they are an end justifies the means group, so their past promises of reduced spending, closing the borders and the like are just repeated LIES.  They have no intention of ever keeping their commitments.

SUSAN RICE:The administration’s line, parroted by everyone from Obama on down, is that Rice’s abysmal performance on the Sunday show came about because she, automaton-like, merely relayed what the intelligence community told her. …

The intelligence community, particularly the CIA, knew that the Benghazi operation was a terrorist attack while it was happening. The White House, including the president, no doubt, was also aware of the fact that a terrorist attack was underway. The State Department, of which Rice is a high ranking official, is not an outlier — it is actually part of the intelligence community, with a division called the “Bureau of Intelligence and Research” that is an intelligence agency and has access to all intel relevant to U.S. foreign policy. The players here were not in the dark, and if they had been they had the means to be brought up to speed quickly.

BIDEN on the Attacked on the Catholic Church:

“With regard to the assault on the Catholic Church, let me make it absolutely clear,” Biden said during his debate with Republican vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan on Thursday. “No religious institution — Catholic or otherwise, including Catholic social services, Georgetown Hospital, Mercy Hospital, any hospital — none has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception, none has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact. That is a fact.”

The U.S. Conference of Bishops disagreed, and issued a letter on Friday taking issue with Biden’s position.

“This is not a fact,” the letter states. “The HHS mandate contains a narrow, four-part exemption for certain ‘religious employers.’ ”

Obama Campaign Confronts Coal Miners With Lies

Red State October 14th, 2012

By: streiff (Diary)

“As has been pointed out by many people, the current regime is simply unable to accept dissent or disagreement… The most recent edition comes from an August 14 rally for Mitt Romney sponsored by Murray Energy at their mining facility in Beallsville,OH.

That miners and mining companies would support Mitt Romney over Barack Obama is not surprising. Obama and his ongoing RICO violation, the EPA, are the implacable enemies of coal.

… In response to the assertion some have made about the miners being forced to appear with Romney, the miners made several points on Friday:

- No employee was forced to attend the event.

- There were no attendance records taken for hourly employees.

- There were absolutely no penalties or reprimands to those who did not attend.

- Due to security concerns for the Romney campaign, there was a list for transportation purposes.

- They were “honored” to host Romney at the mine.

“Liberals seem to assume that, if you don’t believe in their particular political solutions, then you don’t really care about the people that they claim to want to help.”
Thomas Sowell

Recently, the “polls” have shown a drift towards the Obama camp.  I do believe that, aided at every step & misstep and by a tepid Romney campaign, the positives for the POTUS have risen.

HOWEVER, in the key battleground states, there just seems to be an oversampling of DEMs which as Karl Rove and many other analyst have espoused. This is based upon two basic reasons. First, they reflect the dynamics of the 2008 election and not the more recent 2010 one. Are we to believe that there will be an identical or even larger per cent of DEM voters compared to GOP voters in 2012 as there was in 2008? I think not.

Second, the media and many left leaning pundits want the Right to give up.  In the face of overwhelming, albeit fictitious data, the hope is that the energy of Conservatives will be diminished and thus less donations, prayers and volunteers will be offered for GOP candidates.  Therefore the advantage is to the Left wingers.

As a result, we are left with an unclear view of the current status of voter preferences. For example, in the OH Senate race a recent WAPO poll shows the DEM Brown up by 12 but the Gravis Marketing Poll has the lead over Mandel of the GOP at 1.  So, there is simply too much of a discrepancy to decipher the truth. Is one poll leaning left and the other right or is the truth somewhere in the middle? Simply, we do not know.  Therefore, Conservatives must be steadfast and VOTE and then Contribute — time, dollars and/or invocations to friends and to the Deity for a positive result.

There is one thing for sure.  This is the most important election in decades.  The DEMs and their lapdogs in the Media will lie and will cheat at every opportunity while exuding an image of a benevolent ruling class. This is a DECEPTION … and every dead voter will be voting DEM this year.  TheTexaselections and other states have experienced numerous examples of fraud in the 2012 primary season.

If Obama is re-elected, we can count on repeated end-runs to the Congress.  We can count on his every attempt to make theUSa socialist democracy for years to come.  He will:

  • Further government dependency to insure votes
  • TAX everyone — the taxes coming w/ Obamacare alone will cripple the middle class and seniors will be subject to rationing — old white folks too often vote Red so it’s better if they are Dead.
  • Foster illegal immigration followed by amnesty for votes.  If he can turnTexas from Red to Blue by an influx of voters from South of the Border, then it is over.
  • Attack the Constitution because there is no place for GOD (as noted by the Democrat Convention) much less God-given rights in a socialist state.
  • Religion, especially the Roman Catholic Church and its charities will continue to be diminished and attacked with secular programs and funding (Planned Parenthood)
  • GUN Rights are on the list since Fast and Furious was a vehicle to falsely create a “need” for additional gun control laws.  Can’t have an electorate which can defend itself against a tyrannical Central Government now can we?
  • Kiss Israel good bye as this guy is a closet Muslim.

Deny your own gut feelings and all the evidence to the contrary, and we may well lose this election and our Country with it. You can do something … so do it!

“Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and
offended to discover that there ARE other views.”
—William F. Buckley, Jr. (1925-2008)

On CLIMATE CHANGE:  Still have friends who believe in the Climate Change Monster Refer them to:

Understanding the Polls & inherent Liberal bias:

If you do not watch opinion poll results much you may not know all the intricacies that are involved.  Usually the data in the parenthesis gives you information you need to be aware of, for instance:

(A) = All or Americans – not necessarily those who will vote

(RV) = Registered Voters – so these folks can vote if they so choose (about 60% do so)

(LV) = Likely Voters or folks who are motivated to vote

(D) = A Democratic Polling outfit so take with a grain of salt

(R) = A Republican Polling outfit so take with a grain of salt

The larger the sampling the better.  A Poll with 1600 LV responses is much better than one with 600 “A” responses.

The sampling makeup is also important.  There are slightly more DEMS than REPUBS in the US but if this proportion is skewed, then that skews the results.

The WAY the question is posed is also important because that can influence the response.

Some of the better polls in my estimation:

Gallup – which is an “A” poll

Rasmussen – which is an LV Poll

These two polls use a 3-7 day trailing average.

If you average these two, then I think you get a pretty good number.

Why? Well because the LV poll may be more accurate IF it gets a good sample.  As cell phones become the only phone service for many younger and some minority voters, these have to be increased in the responses included within the sample.  So, I think you get some of that balance with one of the better “A” polls averaged in with one of the best LV Polls.

Many of the network and liberal (WAPO) outlets are skewed because of the disproportionate number of DEMS in their Sample or because of the “way” the question was structures.

The Real Clear Politics ( is an Average of the more current polls (say within the last month or so).  It is a fairly good number because it will include various polls.  However, once it was accused of slanting results towards the Conservatives; but now it is worth pointing out that the polls in the average are mostly polls of adults and of liberal outlets which tend to oversample Democrats. This means that Obama’s standing with the actual electorate is probably weaker than these numbers suggest.

Purple Strategies (  – This is an interesting poll made up of both DEMS and REPUBS pollsters and which focuses on the SWING STATES ONLY.  They poll about every 5-6 weeks although that might become more frequent the closer to November 6 we get.  Since this is a relatively new poll I don’t know how accurate they will end up; but it is interesting to look at the results of key states and compare what changes (or perhaps the “trends”) there are from the previous sample.

Election Projection ( is a good site for all races but particularly US House races and key races within a state.  RCP is supposed to bring onto their site some House contest information but did not have much in 2012 and are late to the game in 2012.   You can look at the Presidential, the Senate, House and Gubernatorial races.  It uses a combination of polls and election history to make its projections.

An example (VA):

GALLUP ( - The percentage of Americans identifying as political independents increased in 2011, as is common in a non-election year, although the 40% who did so is the highestGallup has measured, by one percentage point. More Americans continue to identify as Democrats than as Republicans, 31% to 27%.

Rasmussen Reports ( – 35% (34.9 of Americans considered themselves Republicans… The number of Democrats steady at 34.0%.

… The Progressives and Obama are so smart that they thought of everything on Obamacare:

  Yahoo! News July 19, 2012

By Liz Goodwin

Another HOLE in Obamacare:

A missing word in the law’s definition of a health insurance exchange could prevent the federal government from doling out crucial subsidies to aid middle class and lower-income people in buying insurance in states that refuse to set up their own exchanges. (Only 14 states are close to setting up exchanges so far. The federal government will set up back-up exchanges in states that don’t have their own by 2014.) If Cannon and Adler are right, the federal government would also not be able to fine large employers in states without exchanges if their lack of coverage leads employees to buy insurance in a federal exchange.

The law defines a health insurance exchange as a “governmental agency or nonprofit entity that is established by a state” in one section of the law, and then says later that individuals who participate in exchanges under that definition are eligible for subsidies. Because the law only says a “state” and not “a state or the federal government,” Cannon and Adler argue that the federal government cannot legally dole out subsidies or tax breaks to people who buy insurance from federal exchanges.

…”I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”
Obama September 12, 2008

“No one making less than $250,000 under Barack Obama’s plan will see one single penny of their tax raised,”
Joe Biden – October 3, 2008

Press Secretary asked if Obama’s tax statement applies to the “to the health care bill”…: “The statement (the President’s tax pledge) didn’t come with caveats.”
Robert Gibbs –
April 15, 2009

Gibbs is once again asked about the President’s tax pledge: “I am reiterating the President’s clear commitment in the clearest terms possible, that he’s not raising taxes on those who make less than $250,000 a year.”
Robert Gibbs – August 3, 2009

“ … My critics say everything is a tax increase. My critics say that I’m taking over every sector of the economy. You know that. Look, we can have a legitimate debate about whether or not we’re going to have an individual mandate or not …”
(when asked if the Individual Mandate is a tax increase): I absolutely reject that notion.
Obama — September 20, 2009

Roberts joined the court’s four liberal justices — Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Stephen G. Breyer and Elena Kagan — in ruling that a penalty for refusing to buy health insurance amounts to a tax and thus is permitted.
SCOTUS – June 28, 2012 – Could be the end of our Republic

After that Litany of Lies, how can we doubt Progressives such as Eric Holder

Fast and Furious:

The defenders of the DOJ’s failed Fast and Furious Operation claim that the same thing happened under the Republicans … in other words, “Bush did it too”  Well firstly, two wrongs don’t make a right.  However, Wide Receiver (W/R) and Fast and Furious F/F) were VERY different in operations and results:

Number of Guns: 200+ W/R v about 2000 F/F

Tracking: RFID tracking (W/R) v none  & no surveillance was authorized, in fact, agents were told NOT to track or to follow the guns (F/F)

Mexican authorities notified:
Yes (W/R) v not (F/F)

Process: Gun tracking – common police tactic (W/R) v Gun Walking –  criminal (F/F)

Guns walked
Undetermined but perhaps in the dozens (W/F)  v 1700+ (F/F)

Purpose: Arrest drug runners (W/R)  v Unknown (some suggest to attack 2nd amendment)

0 (W/R) v 200-300 including Brian Terry (Border Patrol) and Jamie Zapata (ICE agent)

1440 by Mexican Government – drug trafficking smugglers (W/R) v 0 (F/F) which actually let go captured criminals.

Wide Receiver operated 2006/2007 and once Drug traffickers figured out and removed RFID … Shut down immediately in 2007 although some guns were lost at that point.
Fast and Furious Operated 2009/2011 and was not shut down until questions started coming out after Terry’s death became public.

Of course we can take the POTUS at his word on Immigration as well.

Imperial Immigration By-Pass:

Our imperial president granted residential amnesty for over 1 million illegal persons between the ages of 16 and 30.  He says because it is fair, it is the right thing to do and that Congress failed to act. LIES. He’s doing it for Votes and only for Votes.  He was not engaged when the Dream Act failed.

We all know that these folks who are impacted were brought here as children.  Many of us also understand that Marco Rubio was working in the Senate to draft a lawful plan to accomplish the same goal.  Thus, Obama plays politics with this likely illegal move to pander to the Hispanic vote and to diminish Rubio’s efforts.  Thus, he stole a Republican idea by illegally permitting the DHS to ignore this group of individuals.

Many say this is humane. Perhaps. I have reservation as always with anything that the government (much less The Progressive Central Government) does because it usually has unintended consequences.  Since these new workers now compete with legal citizens, does unemployment become worse?  Then, is this really the right thing to do? True, many may already work but are they displacing American workers at a time of high unemployment and contributing to that number?  If they receive in state tuition for college, is this FAIR to out of state Americans who endure higher costs? Does this not just continue to provide a magnet encouraging more to come here illegally?

Yes, the Left will point to examples of high achievers within this group and leave out those who have less glorious personal stories and accomplishments.  However, the central issue is that if we are a Nation of Laws, then when are we going to adhere to them?  We are in this position because for too long both parties have failed to protect our borders because of political concerns.  Thus, we are faced with difficult decisions.  If these individuals, largely of Mexican descent want to live on our soil, do we expect at least some form of allegiance to our Laws and our Country?  Many believe that their lands were illegally taken thus they want to just become squatters in order to take them back.  Is this creating more issues down the road because we are allowing entry through the back door and not as the many who go through the legal process (and are now looking up at folks placed in the line ahead of them)?  Is that Fair?

Perhaps, most importantly, how will the program be managed? How will we VERIFY the age of the person, when they crossed into the U.S. and the like?  If it is laxed, then certainly it is simply for votes not for fairness.

After SCOTUS AZ Immigration Law ruling, Obama pulls Federal ICE support in AZ for budget constraint considerations … $5T in additional debt and he wishes us to believe he is concerned with spending!

Reminds us all of how he took that terrible risk in a situation room ordering the execution of Bin Laden — while of course leaving himself a scape goat if the mission failed — and then taking full credit “I ordered … I got him … I … I … I … I” –
Great Leadership, sir. In November 2012, we all hope we can say “Thank you for your past service” as you leave OUR White House.

I hope these guys (First Trust) are right in their Article dated 5/7/12 entitled Dead Cat Bounce for Socialism -

“The Social Welfare State is dying. Like the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain, the cradle-to-grave social welfare experiment must eventually collapse. A system of taxing work and profits, while subsidizing leisure, sloth, and retirement, must eventually fail.”

From Laura Ingraham – web site blog:

May 13, 2012 – Posted by StaffThe “jealous” First Lady who “hates fat people”

Michelle Obama orders women close to her husband to be watched in case he cheats on her like John F Kennedy did to his wife, a new book claims.

The First Lady is supposedly ‘unusually jealous’ and has so little trust in Barack Obama that she turns up unannounced during the day to see what he is doing.

She also objected to her husband’s close relationship toU.S. chat show queen Oprah Winfrey – and shunned her because she ‘hates fat people’.

APRIL, 2012

The progressive wishes to “compromise” politically as a means to resolving disputes …

Of course the Progressive LEFT wishes to compromise because with each compromise we move further from our Founding principles.  Almost never is the Compromise to the Right or back towards founding principles.  Why?  Because PROGRESSIVES will demonize any idea or proposed legislation as “racist” or a war on (fill in the blank) or at a minimum “extremist”.  Therefore, we cannot have a Compromise but nonetheless we do have a CHOICE. The Constitutional Republic is at fundamental odds with the Democratic Administrative State.

Most all of us know this but it is worth contrasting major differences between the two political philosophies:

1  Believes that throughout history man progresses or evolves thus requiring new governmental trappings to meet the needs of the people (Wilson/Dewey)

2  Today’s central government no longer poses a threat to people’s liberty therefore it should grow to meet their new rights stemming from the right of ‘security” … rights trump freedoms including individual liberties like property ownership and religious liberty. (FDR et al)

3  The central governmental powers are to be enhanced and this goal is supreme and the “form” of government (be it a Democracy, a Ruling Aristocracy etc) is secondary. This Government recognizes and grants these new rights — and it defines such as a right to a job, a home, a fair wage, education, and medical care. (FDR – Second Bill of Rights)

4  The government administrators are professionals and are well taken care of thus they will perform their tasks for the welfare of the people without personal or political motive

5  The citizenry’s welfare is cared for by the State (largely the central government) through its unelected bureaucracy

6  The Majority should rule and then this this should foster the greater good for the greatest number of people and the rights of the collective

7  The Political class will be composed of the brightest and best among us to manage and to administer the dealings of the State

8  Equality must be a Result (everyone gets a trophy) not a Right (the opportunity to EARN a trophy) as understood by the Founders (LBJ’s - The Great Society)

9  Modern Statesmanship entails the “redefinition” of “rights in terms of a changing and growing social order”  and a calling a growth of Government to meet these needs (FDR - The New Deal)

10 The true Progressive has no qualms about deceiving the People, demeaning its opposition or dividing the citizenry on race, age, sex, sexual preference through promises or free stuff (Saul Alinsky – the ends justifies the means)

1  Believes that the Founders were correct and that God Given rights are universal and the nature of man has changed little throughout history thus his needs and that of his governance have not significantly changed

2  The Declaration of Independence defines our rights and the moral and ethical justification for them and these are “inalienable”

3  The Constitution is the “form”, the structure laid down to ensure our rights. The key premise is that the People are sovereign and permit the Government to act in accordance to protect their rights as defined in the Declaration. Thus, our Constitutional Republic was architected to preserve, protect and foster the inlienable rights identified by the Declaration.

4  A Limited Central Government is the only real check for tyranny and the only curtailment of man’s proclivity to subjugate his fellow man.

5  The 3 branches of Government … with the original construction of checks and balances … would direct issues such as foreign policy, international and interstate trade, national defense and the like but all other powers would reside with the individual States

6  The Founders recognized the threats from both Minority Tyranny and more importantly Majority Tyranny and attempted to create safeguards of our individual rights from both.

7  Politicians were the best and brightest elected in order to REPRESENT the people

8  The Constitution is designed to recognize that ALL men are created equal (thus, slavery was at once at odds with the Constitution so black men were redefined as property not human) and both to provide and to guarantee EQUAL OPPORTUNITY to pursue happiness (individual fortune) but not EQUAL RESULTS.

9  Modern Conservatives call for a return to individual self-rule and national self-government as set forth in the Founding in order to reduce the size and scope of the federal government while providing conservative compassion through a limited social safety net. (Ronald Reagan)

10 The true Conservative still values our country’s western Judeo-Christian roots in which the end never justifies the means.  However, we must learn to fight fire with fire by calling out the lies and misrepresentations of its opponents in a clear and unabridged fashion and to organize like the Tea Party to combat Community “Organizers” like ACORN (or whatever is their current Alias).

Progressivism and Conservatism are completely incompatible.  This is Political War. There is no middle ground between central administration by a political class and the self rule by the consent of the governed, between unbridled welfare and self-reliance, between central control and individual freedom.  Progressivism facilitates welfare and dependence upon the government.  Conservatism facilitates self-reliance, personal responsibility and free markets.  The latter has proven to create the most wealth the world has ever seen.  The former has never succeeded as witnessed by the collapse of European economy today and former collapses in theSoviet Union.  Limited Government is the direct opposite of the Socialistic welfare state. There’s no available Hybrid nor will there ever be one. Progressivism requires a fundamental change of values and of political structure.

What is the solution?  Well, it is NOT compromise which constantly erodes the Republic’s constitutional structure and distances us from our founding ideals.  Other than the fact the Founders recognized that the People had the right to dissolve a government that no longer respected individual rights or conformed to the tenants of Limited Government, there is a CHOICE.  Hopefully, we will never experience a necessity for a second amendment solution.  The Choice is our Vote.

But, the Progressives attack that as well through resistance to Voter ID laws.  For what purpose?  Allegedly because it is (what else?) discriminatory against minorities.  After more than 4 decades and $12T in investment since the Civil Rights era, apparently there are some who cannot get a free ID and would feel bad about doing so.  In states which have these laws, voter participation is actually up but logic and facts have never deterred our Liberal compatriots. Obviously the true purpose is to expand the Democratic base to their tried and true voting blocks of the DEAD, the Illegal and the cast of Disney cartoon characters.

For example in Texas, recent reports show that numerous districts have voter registration rolls which EXCEED the total eligible voters within that district…one by a whopping 163%.  I am sure the Progressives want us to believe that there is no cause for alarm while they are promoting illegal registration and voting. Surely, the cry of “disenfranchising minority voters” is a very real one since numerous forms of voting IDs are allowed and at no costs, right? No one is fooled by this blatant attempt to steal elections through organized fraud. Every fraudelent vote disenfranchises a legitimate voter (mostly, Conservative ones).

(Support True the Vote: King Street Patriots

Therefore, as Conservative Americans we must vote and encourage like-minded individuals to do so as well.  We must be vigilant against Voter fraud and support ‘True the Vote” efforts locally and nationally.  We must get involved.  Support local candidates with time, with dollars and with your voice at every opportunity whether it be a church, school, community or personal activities and gatherings.  We must educate ourselves on our founding principles and documents in order to educate others including our children and to be able to communicate our vision.

Lastly, do not worry about offending a Liberal … they do not have a problem attacking you. You may engage in the conflict or if you do not want the conflict … as Reagan once declared … one can Surrender and Avoid War (something Ronnie said we Americans would never do).

Do Not Take The Progressives at their Word:

The political left constantly claims it is in the middle, the centrist of the political spectrum when nothing can be more untrue.   When it is understood that they wish for a ruling elite to guide society into their utopian world and that the end justifies the means, well then it makes a lot more sense.

Remembrances of George Orwell’s 1984:

These are the folks who say “access” when they mean “free”. “Women’s Rights” no longer refers to voting rights, workplace equality … No No, these now include abortion rights, contraceptive rights (I’m still trying to comprehend this insanity) and of course  perhaps these same rights are not applicable to Conservative Women. They claim social and economic justice when they mean redistribution.  The POTUS rarely weighs into “race” issues” but always he is anti-white. A Psychiatrist might conclude he has MOMMY Issues.  Certainly, he takes no responsibility for his mistakes and policies.

Help me out here, when have we had a President who talks to Americal ike Obama does?

  • Folks getting all we we-ed up,
  • Time to eat your peas,
  • Rude to the Justices during the State of the Union,
  • Overseas bashing and apologizing for America,
  • Overlooking that Seniors were mocked at the health care Town Halls,
  • Defending Fluke while accepting $1M from misogynist Mayer
  • Taking the side of Trayvon Martin and Professor … before all the facts are out.
  • Accepting credit for the “southern leg” of the Keystone XL PL (which little was left to do) while days before he called senators to oppose the approval of the Project
  • Accepting a Nobel Peace Prize
  • Accepting credit for increase Oil Production while drilling on Federal Lands have been reduced by over 35%
  • Disregarding the Senates Recess Rules

He does little but childish finger pointing and name calling … actions with which most of us would not let our 5 year old get do with our repercussions.

All this crap talk instead of addressing issues. Certainly this is not what one expects from the President of theUnited States. I do not think there is one time he has given a speech that he hasn’t “misspoke”.

We had to pass Obamacare to see what’s in it.  We knew that the good stuff like keeping a child on your insurance and expansion of coverage would come first.  It included expanding coverage to the willing or unwilling uninsured.  However insurance rates have soared since its passage. Medicaid was robbed so that AARP could sell us insurance to provide reasonable coverage to augment Medicare.  What is that going to cost?

The per person Medicare Insurance Premium will increase from the

present Monthly Fee of $96.40, rising to:

$104.20 in 2012

$120.20 in 2013
   … and (wait for it):
$247.00 in 2014.

These are Provisions and Regulations incorporated in the Obamacare Legislation, are
purposely delayed so as not to confuse the 2012 Re-Election Campaigns.
Seniors should know who is really throwing them under the bus.

Catholic Bishops’ Letter:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:   I write to you concerning an alarming and serious matter that negatively impacts the Church in the United States directly, and that strikes at the fundamental right to religious liberty for all citizens of any faith. The federal government, which claims to be “of, by, and for the people,” has just been dealt a heavy blow to almost a quarter of those people — the Catholic population — and to the millions more who are served by the Catholic faithful.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last week that almost all employers,
including Catholic employers, will be forced to offer their employees’ health coverage that includes sterilization, abortion-inducing drugs, and contraception. Almost all health insurers will be forced to include those “services” in the health policies they write. And almost all individuals will be forced to buy that coverage as a part of their policies.
In so ruling, the Obama Administration has cast aside the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying to Catholics our Nation’s first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty. And as a result, unless the rule is overturned, we Catholics will be compelled to either violate our consciences, or to drop health coverage for our employees (and suffer the penalties for doing so). The Obama Administration’s sole concession was to give our institutions one year to comply.
We cannot—we will not—comply with this unjust law. People of faith cannot be made second class citizens. We are already joined by our brothers and sisters of all faiths and many others of good will in this important effort to regain our religious freedom. Our parents and grandparents did not come to these shores to help build America’s cities and towns, its infrastructure and institutions, its enterprise and culture, only to have their posterity stripped of their God given rights. In generations past, the Church has always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect her sacred rights and duties. I hope and trust she can count on this generation of Catholics to do the same. Our children and grandchildren deserve nothing less.
And therefore, I would ask of you two things. First, as a community of faith we must commit ourselves to prayer and fasting that wisdom and justice may prevail, and religious liberty may be restored. Without God, we can do nothing; with God, nothing is impossible. Second, I would also recommend visiting,to learn more about this severe assault on religious liberty, and how to contact Congress in support of legislation that would reverse the Obama Administration’s decision.
  Sincerely yours in Christ,

tSt Comments: The Catholic Church and its affiliates should not be “governed” into providing for birth control, sterilization and the morning after pill against the conscience of the faithful. The assertion that this birth control is “free” actually is a lie. It is not “free” since it costs organizations (and the tax payers) to pay for these “services”. Thereby, it compels individuals to sin, to violate their beliefs and morals.  In effect, as one priest put it, Obama is telling Catholics to go to hell.

Another LIE is that the Insurance Companies actually save money with contraception rather than providing care for that evil “condition” — pregnancy.  If this were true, and those greedy, evil money hungry companies would serve their own benefit and have a free shop on every corner. Correct?

Just as sand falling through the hour glass…grain by grain we lose another choice and freedom under the umbrella of “for the common good”. One has to make a personal choice about having sex so why exactly is that providing the contraceptive a public responsibility?

If you want contraceptives…then buy them yourself; if you want an abortion ... then pay for your own abortion.  Our religious freedom is under attack and the DEMs provide a rationalization that only those “educated” in our overpriced crappy education system would believe.

My God, what in the world has happened to our Republic? Have you EVER heard of a recipient of an entitlement thanking the taxpayer for it? You sure as hell hear them demonize when they feel they are entitled to more.  So, you think the Constitution is out of date now my liberal Catholic friends?

Lastly, you ACTIVIST PRIESTS” stop facilitating undocumented illegals and enabling them to game our system for free stuff.  You want redistribution and you believe you have the right to take the tax payers’ money without paying into the system?  This is theft by Marxism. Then why are you surprised that this government will redistribute your liberties to facilitate “women’s rights? FOOLS! YOU GET IN BED WITH THE MARXISTS AND YOU’RE GOING TO GET SCREWED!

The vote in 2008 was an “historic one”.  Make to 2012 an “historic” landslide to kick Obama out.

Lies from the Left
From the Internet (origin unknown):

In 2012, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address occurred on the same day.

This is an ironic juxtaposition of events.

One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to an insignificant creature of little intelligence for prognostication.

The other involves a groundhog.

tSt Response to the SOTU:

One of the greatest rationalizations of statist socialism ever delivered in a speech.  Even if we attempt to ignore all the falsehoods and blatant “spins”, this was a partisan speech designed to divide our country into political camps — with of course the Conservatives as the Bad Guys and the Progressives as the saviors of the middle class.  Hog wash.

Many of those who have gained wealth during the last decades are the very “ruling elites” who wish to hold onto power by creating dependencies and by empowering a victimhood mentality.  The rulers have their special Wall Street and Capitalistic cronies who have stolen trillions from the American People with the help of the likes of the Barney Franks in OUR Government.  Now we will sacrifice a few pawns in the name of justice. Buffett stands to gain millions from his railroads at the expense of the blockage of the Keystone Pipeline.  He’s willing to give up 5% because his net wealth will nonetheless soar.  This is what it has come to in America.

The response to his declarations was for the most part tepid in the House Chamber.  Even DEMs understand that last night was The Prosecution’s opening argument against Individual Liberty and it just outlines its case.  The Defense of the People has not yet been heard.  The Republican candidate MUST be able to communicate our founding principles well.

Obviously the POTUS avoided his record.  Who wouldn’t?  He’s not stupid.  Revenues from increase taxes on those making a Million or more will sky rocket. The actual intake into the Treasury will have a miniscule impact on the coming $16T debt while punishing the small business entrepreneurs.  It has been noted that about 25% of those individuals earning a million or more change from year to year.  Some have a terrific year or take a one time earnings boost from profits.  In reality, someone needs to earn consistently at that level to truly amass wealth.

Thus, the small business will suffer and along with it, the middle class who won’t be hired under an oppressive system and becoming more so when combined with Obamacare.  Many large corporations will benefit from lessening competition from smaller companies who can’t get loans and who can’t manage all the regulations coming from the central government.

The Central Government wishes to become your charity of choice.  Just compare the charitable contributions from wealthy Republican politicians with Democrats.  As you tax the wealthy the more, charities likely will receive less.  If you are a Catholic charity, you will have to violate your conscious under the Obamacare guidelines with regard to contraception.  If you preach individual salvation you will be mocked by those proposing mass salvation or pure secularism.

The Seal Teams which took out Bin Laden and which rescued the American lady from the Somali tyrants were a team.  But first and foremost they were individuals.  They made an individual choice to serve their country through the military.  They individually went through the rigors of training.  Politicians may have given the orders from the safety of a situation room, but these individuals each did their job.

If you want an American in which the government takes care of your needs but in doing so, instructs you how to live, if you want an America in which economic and social justice are determined by the Central Government or if you want an America in which that government determines what is fairness so we can again live with what it allows, then Vote Progressive.  You have that Right.

However, if like me, you wish to restore our government to our founding principles of Individual Liberty, Equal Opportunity (not results), Free Markets and a smaller government which understands it’s place is to defend us from enemies foreign and domestic and to facilitate an environment in which people may seek their individual fortune, may choose their religion, may create their individual  goals and dreams while respecting private property rights, then let us find a candidate who can champion these goals and who can challenge a very adept communicator of the socialistic agenda.

From Fox News -1-25-12 (Fact-Check)

It was a wish list, not a to-do list.

President Obama’s array of plans in his State of the Union speech was light on a key piece of context — namely, that his hands are so tied until after the election that it is doubtful many if any of them can be done in the remainder of his term. There can be little more than wishful thinking behind his call to end oil industry subsidies — something he could not get through a Democratic Congress, much less today’s divided Congress, much less in this election year.

A look at Obama’s rhetoric Tuesday night and how it fits with the facts and political realities of the day:

OBAMA: “We have subsidized oil companies for a century. That’s long enough. It’s time to end the taxpayer giveaways to an industry that’s rarely been more profitable, and double-down on a clean energy industry that’s never been more promising.”

THE FACTS: This is at least Obama’s third run at stripping subsidies from the oil industry. Back when fellow Democrats formed the House and Senate majorities, he sought $36.5 billion in tax increases on oil and gas companies over the next decade, but Congress largely ignored the request. He called again to end such tax breaks in last year’s State of the Union speech. And he’s now doing it again, despite facing a wall of opposition from Republicans who want to spur domestic oil and gas production and oppose tax increases generally.

OBAMA: “Our health care law relies on a reformed private market, not a government program.”

THE FACTS: That’s only half true. About half of the more than 30 million uninsured Americans expected to gain coverage through the health care law will be enrolled in a government program. Medicaid, the federal-state program for low-income people, will be expanded starting in 2014 to cover childless adults living near the poverty line.

The other half will be enrolled in private health plans through new state-based insurance markets. But many of them will be receiving federal subsidies to make their premiums more affordable. And that’s a government program, too.

Starting in 2014 most Americans will be required to carry health coverage, either through an employer, by buying their own plan, or through a government program.

OBAMA: “Tonight, I want to speak about how we move forward, and lay out a blueprint for an economy that’s built to last – an economy built on American manufacturing, American energy, skills for American workers, and a renewal of American values.”

THE FACTS: Economists do see manufacturing growth as a necessary component of any U.S. recovery. U.S. manufacturing output climbed 0.9 percent in December, the biggest gain since December 2010. Yet Obama’s apparent vision of a nation once again propelled by manufacturing — a vision shared by many Republicans — may already have slipped into the past.

Over generations, the economy has become ever more driven by services; not since 1975 has the U.S. had a surplus in merchandise trade, which covers trade in goods, including manufactured and farm goods. About 90 percent of American workers are employed in the service sector, a profound shift in the nature of the workforce over many decades.

The overall trade deficit through the first 11 months of 2011 ran at an annual rate of nearly $600 billion, up almost 12 percent from the year before.

OBAMA: “The Taliban’s momentum has been broken, and some troops in Afghanistan have begun to come home.”

THE FACTS: Obama is more sanguine about progress in Afghanistan than his own intelligence apparatus. The latest National Intelligence Estimate on Afghanistan warns that the Taliban will grow stronger, using fledgling talks with the U.S. to gain credibility and stall until U.S. troops leave, while continuing to fight for more territory. The classified assessment, described to The Associated Press by officials who have seen it, says the Afghan government hasn’t been able to establish credibility with its people, and predicts the Taliban and warlords will largely control the countryside.

OBAMA: “On the day I took office, our auto industry was on the verge of collapse. Some even said we should let it die. With a million jobs at stake, I refused to let that happen. In exchange for help, we demanded responsibility. We got workers and automakers to settle their differences. We got the industry to retool and restructure. Today, General Motors is back on top as the world’s number one automaker. Chrysler has grown faster in the U.S. than any major car company. Ford is investing billions in U.S. plants and factories. And together, the entire industry added nearly 160,000 jobs.”

THE FACTS: He left out some key details. The bailout of General Motors and Chrysler began under Republican President George W. Bush. Obama picked up the ball, earmarked more money, and finished the job. But Ford, which Obama mentions as well, never asked for a federal bailout and never got one. It’s managed to get along on its own. Also, as part of its restructuring, Chrysler is not really a U.S. automaker anymore. Italian automaker Fiat now owns a 30 percent share, and it will eventually go to 51 percent under terms of the U.S. bailout and its bankruptcy restructuring.

Lies from the Left –

Obama: “We’re Greater Together Than We Are On Our Own”

“This isn’t about class warfare. This is about the nation’s welfare. It’s about making choices that benefit not just the people who’ve done fantastically well over the last few decades, but that benefits the middle class, and those fighting to get to the middle class, and the economy as a whole,” President Obama said in Kansas (12/6/2011) at a campaign event.

tSt Comment: My suggestion, sir is that in “fairness” you and your family along with the same for all members of Congress should be on the identical medical plan you have in mind for the rest of us – OBAMACARE. You also need to cease with crony socialism in “fairness” to all corporate entities. The members of the Congress who use inside information to enrich themselves need to go jail like private citizens would who engage in such activities. Redistribution by any other name including “fairness” is nonetheless socialistic redistribution.

Never forget “The Power of One” – it is the individual who can bring great positive change and innovation as well if not better than the group, the communal.  Collective efforts tend to trend toward the average, the mediocre unless each member is truly exceptional (like our country). We have no problem working together so long as our individual God-given rights are respected and maintained.  Equal opportunity does not guarantee equal results and therein lies its power and beauty.

Sir, clean up the corruption in DC and get the country on a fiscally responsible plan. Stop buying votes by using someone else’s hard earned wealth to empower you and your party.  Stop encouraging voter fraud with the LIE that showing an ID is intimidation.

Once you have returned integrity to the system, then we can discuss how to move forward.  Otherwise, The People will view your words with the cynicism they deserve.

The Bill of Rights is all that stands between us and tyranny. JPFO

NickinNOVA (Liberal blogger on Obama’s speech:

E pluribus unum?
There is something wrong with promoting American unity, working as a community to better each other? Seems like a boiler plate statement that could be made by any President of any party.

tSt Reply: Working “together” equally on everything for the same rewards (except of course if you are a member of the ruling class)?

Individual effort, individual rights and individual freedoms are at the core of our founding.  We created the greatest Meritocracy in history.  No, it isn’t perfect but it is a lot better than the socialistic models of Europe which this POTUS is guiding us towards. I for one prefer self reliance and the risks that go with that … if I fail, it is on me.  If I succeed, that’s good for me.

True, individuals can work together for the common good … but they remain INDIVIDUALS and not merely part of the Progressive “collective”.  “Fairness” is Progressive code for redistribution. Because poor Nick can’t pull his own weight then Phil should help him out, right? Does this fairness mean that the less talented, less fortunate (yes, luck plays a part), less industrious deserve, “merit” the same those who have or have developed more skills or exert more effort?  I believe Mr. Obama would not say this but he’s simply a Democratic Socialist*.

FYI:  As of 2005, people living in rich countries had an average income of about $35,000. The high incomes in these countries make the world average income four times larger than the world median income, which was $1,700 that year.

When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn’t solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities. (provided by J. Badger)

*Democratic socialism

Modern democratic socialism is a broad political movement that seeks to propagate the ideals of socialism within the context of a democratic system. Many democratic socialists support social democracy as a road to reform of the current system, but others support more revolutionary tactics to establish socialist goals. Conversely, modern social democracy emphasizes a program of gradual legislative reform of capitalism in order to make it more equitable and humane, while the theoretical end goal of building a socialist society is either completely forgotten or redefined in a pro-capitalist way. The two movements are widely similar both in terminology and in ideology, although there are a few key differences.

Democratic socialism generally refers to any political movement that seeks to establish an economy based on economic democracy by and for the working class. Democratic socialists oppose democratic centralism and the revolutionary vanguard party of Leninism. Democratic socialism is difficult to define, and groups of scholars have radically different definitions for the term. Some definitions simply refer to all forms of socialism that follow an electoral, reformist or evolutionary path to socialism, rather than a revolutionary one.

Correcting the ‘fairy tale’: A SEAL’s account of how Osama bin Laden really died

The Daily Caller — November 7, 2011

By Chuck Pfarrer

Excerpt: “It became obvious in the weeks evolving after the mission that the story that was getting put out there was not only untrue, but it was a really ugly farce of what did happen,” said Chuck Pfarrer, author of Seal Target Geronimo

: The Inside Story of the Mission to Kill Osama Bin Laden.

“He (bin Laden) dived across the king-size bed to get at the AKSU rifle he kept by the headboard,” wrote Pfarrer in his book. It was at that moment, a mere 90 seconds after the SEALs first set foot on the roof, that two American bullets shattered bin Laden’s chest and head, killing a man who sought violence to the very end.

President Obama stepped up to a podium in the East Room of the White House that night to announce bin Laden’s death. That rapid announcement, explained Pfarrer, posed a major threat to U.S. national security.

“There was a choice that night,” Pfarrer told The DC. “There was a choice to keep the mission secret.” America, Pfarrer explained, could have left things alone for “weeks or months … even though there was evidence left on the ground there … and use the intelligence and finish off al-Qaida.”

But Obama’s announcement, he said, “rendered moot all of the intelligence that was gathered from the nexus of al-Qaida. The computer drives, the hard drives, the videocassettes, the CDs, the thumb drives, everything. Before that could even be looked through, the political decision was made to take credit for the operation.”

tSt Comment:  First Obama tries to steal valor by his “I did” press conference after bin Laden was killed.  Now we know there was an additional amount of BS surrounding this operation all for political gain.  Letting the enemy know that we recovered a bunch of intelligence isn’t exactly “brilliant”.  We sure wouldn’t have won WWII with this Administration in power.

Lies from the Left –

From AARP 10-5-11 (as a FORMER member I get the tripe routinely.  Not only are they screwing seniors, they now are asking for donations to have seniors help them in the process):

Dear Phil,

Yesterday, lobbyists for hospital groups around the country descended on Capitol Hill with one mission: convincing the supercommittee to cut Medicare benefits for future retirees.

Congress should not allow hospitals and other special interests groups to push their costs onto the backs of seniors – but this increase could cost seniors over $2,000 more per year.

Phil, you and I aren’t pushovers. But we only have a few weeks to show the supercommittee we’re not going to let them cut our benefits without a fight.

To stop them, we’re launching a hard-hitting new ad, holding local town-hall events, and flooding Congress with letters and phone calls.

Can you chip in $5 to help us make sure the supercommittee gets the message? Help keep Social Security and Medicare safe – we need 5,000 donors by October 11!

The supercommittee needs to know you’re counting on them to make the right choice and focus on cutting wasteful spending and closing tax loopholes – not targeting the benefits you’ve earned through years of hard work.

Lobbyists and special interest groups are pressuring the supercommittee to vote in their interests. And if we can’t convince them to say no to cuts to Medicare and Social Security, here’s what could be at stake for millions of seniors and middle-class families:

  • No Medicare coverage until age 67 – which would raise out-of-pocket costs by an average of $2,200 per year;
  • Higher premiums for those already in the Medicare program;
  • Reduced benefit checks that you rely on to pay your bills.

We simply cannot stand for benefit cuts that will make it harder for seniors to access their doctors and receive affordable health care.

That’s why we’re leading the charge to make sure every member of the supercommitee understands that millions of Americans are counting on them to protect these critical benefits.

But we don’t have much time before the supercommittee makes their final decision. Join the fight to protect your benefits – donate $5 today to help us ramp up our campaign in these critical weeks.

Thanks for standing with us – we couldn’t do it without your help.

tSt Reply:

Dear Fred,

Are you a Progressive? We know that AARP is a crony capitalistic, progressive company HQ in CA.

Why are you attempting to “scare” seniors — so you can manipulate them into voting for Obama?  We understand AARP got a great deal on Obamacare in order to create a Medigap market for itself while selling your customers down the proverbial river.

I haven’t seen any plan that impacts current seniors or those say above the age of 55.  The current system is unsustainable. If a few dollars more is needed in contributions, it is better than having the system tank or else burden our children and grandchildren with more debt that DC has run up.

People are living longer if you have not checked your actuarial charts lately.  People should retire later.  I am good with 70 (I am 64 and I am OK with working longer and paying a LITTLE more towards benefits so future generations do not have to bear these costs). However, I do not want to pay a dishonest “seniors” organization for supplemental plans which they pushed for with the Democrats. Medical cost are on the rise … might want to check that out as well.

Please consult an objective news organization — oops, there aren’t any!  The country is broke. The politicians in DC are to blame and their statist policies which benefit organizations like AARP at the expense of the American Taxpayer for whom you have no respect. The irony here is that you bemoan lobbyist attempting to influence the super committee.  For whom exactly are the “donations” you are collecting intended?  Perhaps, your sophisticated lobbying group … the same one that helped bring us Obamacare?

Grassroots?  Pushovers? Who are you kidding?  You are the poster child for Nancy Pelosi’s (she’s from CA too .. what a coincidence) Astroturf.  Do not try to steal the definition of a true grassroots movement such as the Tea Party with this paltry attempt to place AARP as a populist movement.  AARP’s commercial interests conflict with those of its membership, and many of the funds and insurance policies that AARP markets actually provide considerably less benefit than seniors could get on their own.  So you can pay those nasty C-level people big bucks while you gouge the elderly in your non-profit status.  How much did AARP pay in taxes vs. the revenue it brought in?

How many useful idiots do you get to donate to your self-serving cause?  Just shovel a bunch of palpable progressive pablum at ‘em, right?  Simply put, AARP has become a wolf in sheep’s clothing “minding” its flock of vulnerable elderly. I would say “shame on you guys” but obviously you have none.

Disagreeably yours,

FACT CHECK: Are rich taxed less than secretaries?

By STEPHEN OHLEMACHER – Associated Press 9-20-11

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama makes it sound as if there are millionaires all over America paying taxes at lower rates than their secretaries.

“Middle-class families shouldn’t pay higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires,” Obama said Monday. “That’s pretty straightforward. It’s hard to argue against that.”

The data tell a different story. On average, the wealthiest people in America pay a lot more taxes than the middle class or the poor, according to private and government data. They pay at a higher rate, and as a group, they contribute a much larger share of the overall taxes collected by the federal government …

Buffett wrote in a recent piece for The New York Times that the tax rate he paid last year was lower than that paid by any of the other 20 people in his office.

This year, households making more than $1 million will pay an average of 29.1 percent of their income in federal taxes, including income taxes and payroll taxes, according to the Tax Policy Center, a Washington think tank.

Households making between $50,000 and $75,000 will pay 15 percent of their income in federal taxes …

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was pressed at a White House briefing on the number of millionaires who pay taxes at a lower rate than middle-income families. He demurred, saying that people who make most of their money in wages pay taxes at a higher rate, while those who get most of their income from investments pay at lower rates.

“So it really depends on what is your profession, where’s the source of your income, what’s the specific circumstances you face, and the averages won’t really capture that,” Geithner said.

tSt Comment: Excellent analysis of the President’s claim that the “millionaires” pay a lower percentage of taxes than other earning groups.  It simply is untrue.  Certainly, there are a few who pay themselves totally in stock with a below market base and then cash in a year later to make a tidy sum.  This is gaming the system and a loophole that should be closed.
However, this is an exception and in many cases Capital Gains represent double taxation because these are after tax dollars that are then taxed again. Note that there is the risk associated with any investment.  If one can on “write off” a loss of $3000 or less but pays taxes on ALL gains, then this can be a “de-incentive” to investment already.
Big government solutions from Progressive academics to redistribute wealth and to manage the economy always result in unintended, negative consequences. The market will adjust.  A consumption tax seems to be a viable alternative to me.

Early Obama Letter Confirms Inability to Write

The American Thinker – August 29, 2011
Jack Cashill

Excerpt: On November 16, 1990, Barack Obama, then president of the Harvard Law Review, published a letter in the Harvard Law Record, an independent Harvard Law School newspaper, championing affirmative action.

The response is classic Obama: patronizing, dishonest, syntactically muddled, and grammatically challenged.  In the very first sentence Obama leads with his signature failing, one on full display in his earlier published work: his inability to make subject and predicate agree.

“Since the merits of the Law Review’s selection policy has been the subject of commentary for the last three issues,” wrote Obama, “I’d like to take the time to clarify exactly how our selection process works.”

If Obama were as smart as a fifth-grader, he would know, of course, that “merits … have.”

She (Michelle) did not write well, either.  Mundy charitably describes her senior thesis at Princeton as “dense and turgid.”  The less charitable Christopher Hitchens observes, “To describe [the thesis] as hard to read would be a mistake; the thesis cannot be ‘read’ at all, in the strict sense of the verb.  This is because it wasn’t written in any known language.“

Michelle had to have been as anxious at Harvard Law as Bart Simpson was at Genius School.  Almost assuredly, the gap between her writing and that of her highly talented colleagues marked her as an affirmative action admission, and the profs finessed her through.

tSt Comments: If there is any doubt that someone other than Mr. Obama wrote “his” highly acclaimed Dreams from My Father , then you need to reread this information.  Prof Ayers to the rescue!  Telepromters are used for the shortest, most insignificant speeches.  Why?  Is it because the POTUS can read out loud better than he can write/speak off the cuff.  That darn grammer thing gets you every time.

Michelle is no genius either and thus we have a pair of overrated individuals based upon college attendance and undeserved “accomplishments.

The Power of Bad Ideas

What we’ve got here is far worse than a failure to communicate.

The Wall Street Journal: Declarations – August 6, 2011
By Peggy Noonan

Excerpt: One fact emerged rather starkly during the crisis, and it will likely have implications in the coming year. It is that the president misunderstands himself as a political figure. Specifically, he misunderstands his rhetorical powers. He thinks they are huge. They are not. They are limited.

His conviction led to an interesting historic moment, and certainly a dramatic one, during the debt ceiling negotiations… Mr. Cantor asked Mr. Obama if he would drop his stand that the debt ceiling should be raised without dollar-for-dollar cuts. At that point, said Mr. Cantor, the president “turned to me and said, ‘Eric, don’t call my bluff.’ He said, ‘I’m going to take this to the American people.’” Then he got up and left.

… Boy it did not work

tSt: Noonan has completely figured out this guy and his modus operandi.  His ego, ideology and thin-skin have driven his every move at the expense of the Country.  This will cost him.  As Peggy notes, speeches no matter how eloquent, without good ideas are meaningless.

Ed Gillespie: “Obama In Over His Head” – Face the Nation – 8/21/11

tSt Comment:
The trouble is that this “drowning president” is taken the whole country down with him.
As he splashes around appointing far left bureaucrats and administrators,  proving Keynes was truly wrong, redistributing while claiming not to be a socialists and then tries to disingenuously speak as a centrist blaming the conservatives for being “partisan”.

The leaders of Syria and Libya are claiming their opposition are unpatriotic and uncouth terrorists.

Sound familiar a little closer to home?

Just in case you believed that all the Global Warming wasn’t BS:

Excerpt:  A leading climate scientist whose report in 2006 of drowning polar bears in Arctic waters galvanized the global warming movement — and was highlighted in Al Gore’s Oscar-winning climate-change documentary — has been suspended, possibly over the accuracy of his observations.

II. Does NASA Data Show Global Warming Lost in Space?

Published July 29, 2011

Read more:

Excerpt: Has a central tenant of global warming just collapsed?
Climate change forecasts have for years predicted that carbon dioxide would trap heat on Earth, and increases in the gas would lead to a planet-wide rise in temperatures, with devastating consequences for the environment.
But long-term data from NASA satellites seems to contradict the predictions dramatically, according to a new study.
Read more:

Richard Lindzen is a MIT professor who after extensive research, concluded that the Global Warming theories were way overstated.  He believed, as it seems NASA just confirmed, that all those greenhouse gases were not “trapped” in theearth’s atmosphere but actually much of it escaped into space …

Views on climate change:
In a 2007 interview on the Larry King Show, Lindzen said:

“we’re talking of a few tenths of a degree change in temperature. None of it in the last eight years, by the way. And if we had warming, it should be accomplished by less storminess. But because the temperature itself is so unspectacular, we have developed all sorts of fear of prospect scenarios — of flooding, of plague, of increased storminess when the physics says we should see less.I think it’s mainly just like little kids locking themselves in dark closets to see how much they can scare each other and themselves.”

In a 2009 editorial in the Wall Street Journal, Lindzen points out that the earth was just emerging from the “Little Ice Age” in the 19th century and concludes that it is “not surprising” to see warming after that. He goes on to state that the IPCC claims were

“based on the weak argument that the current models used by the IPCC couldn’t reproduce the warming from about 1978 to 1998 without some forcing, and that the only forcing that they could think of was man. Even this argument assumes that these models adequately deal with natural internal variability—that is, such naturally occurring cycles as El Niño, the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation, etc.Yet articles from major modeling centers acknowledged that the failure of these models to anticipate the absence of warming for the past dozen years was due to the failure of these models to account for this natural internal variability. Thus even the basis for the weak IPCC argument for anthropogenic climate change was shown to be false.”

The New York Times article included the comments of several other experts. Jerry Mahlman, director of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, did not accept Lindzen’s assessment of the science, and said that Lindzen had “sacrificed his luminosity by taking a stand that most of us feel is scientifically unsound.”

In short — he was RIGHT!!!!!!

The ‘Jim Crow’ Lie

How could asking for ID be discriminatory only when it comes to voting?

The Wall Strret Journal – Opinion – June 21, 2011
By James Taranto

Excerpt: “The claim is that laws requiring voters to show identification impose a special burden on black citizens and are therefore discriminatory. Why this should be the case is never clearly explained, but in any case it is bunk. As PolitiFact notes:

‘Jim Crow was about much more than just voter disenfranchisement. While laws to restrict voting were an important part of the system of Jim Crow, they were just one part. . . . Legalized discrimination in the South ran the gamut from separate hotels and buses to to [sic] unequal schools to separate water fountains.’

Why? If Dionne or Wasserman Schultz has a good answer, we’ll be happy to acknowledge it in a future column. Our answer is that their claim of discrimination is a dishonest and divisive partisan appeal to blacks’ fears of racism–fears that, in this instance, do not appear to have any basis in contemporary reality.”

tSt: Taranto takes apart this Lie form the left as total BS.  It makes one wonder why anyone would not wish to protect the sanctity of the ballot box other than to commit voter fraud.  Disenfranchising here seems to be more associated to those who have passed away ( a major Progressive voting block) than to ethnicity.

May 23rd: Thanks to my daughter-in-law Kelly for relating my granddaughter’s experience with an eating disordered triggered by the elementary school’s implementation (not too thoughtfully) of Michelle Obama’s anti-child obesity campaign and to Laura Ingraham for having Kelly on her May 23rd Radio program.  Hopefully, this helps other parents avoid eating disorder issues with their children through an awareness that unintended consequences from broad brush government programs, no matter how well meaning, can have very harmful effects.

Why is the First Lady’s Child obesity message not filtered by school programs?  Are they so slobbering over the Progressive White House Couple that they check common sense in the cloak room? My granddaughter was in the hospital (about 14 weeks) with an eating disorder. Trigger: All 5th graders were weighed at her school with the knowledge that a report would be developed and sent home about how overweight they are (from an 11 year olds perspective, the message is that all kids must be fat so you have to control your intake and exercise).

Even a very bright, skinny girl got the message that kids are fat.  When she returned to school the nurse immediately and repeatedly attempted to get her weight even after both the mother and then the school principal instructed her to back off.  Common sense has been replaced by the big government agenda — unintended consequences always occur when painting with a broad brush.  Parents MUST challenge their childrens’ teachers — they are OUR CHILDRE — they are school chidren but NOT THE SCHOOL’S CHILDREN. Unfortunately, the days of blind respect for adults is over and children must know that they can respectfully challenge authority when that authority asserts values which are inconsistent with those taught at home.

If you don’t think our school’s have lost their way as teacher pay as increased, then look up our children’s performance as it has dropped to 15-25th in the developed world in reading, science and math) read the article highlighted below.  So we AREN’T getting our money’s worth from our schools so don’t fall for the bleeding heart “poor little undefunded school” mantra.

Here is a very good article commenting on our current state of education.

The ‘Education’ Mantra

Real Clear Politics – May 10, 2011
By Thomas Sowell

Excerpt: “… education can cover anything from courses on nuclear physics to courses on baton twirling … Too many of the people coming out of even our most prestigious academic institutions graduate with neither the skills to be economically productive nor the intellectual development to make them discerning citizens and voters.
… you need only visit campuses where whole departments feature soft courses preaching a sense of victimhood and resentment, and see the consequences in racial and ethnic polarization on campus.
We don’t need more government “investment” to produce more of such “education.” Lofty words like “investment” should not blind us to the ugly reality of political porkbarrel spending.

tSt:  We all know the issues facing elementary and secondary education.  Sowell takes it up a step to the university level where divisive topics and courses instruct more on how to be a resentful victim rather than a productive member of society.  Without refocusing on skill building and on learning how to discern and to think, then no matter the amount of “investment” spending, the results will still be a failure to properly educate our young citizens.

- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), April 4, 2011 (could her title be anymore appropriate?)

“In one of the bills before us, 6 million seniors are deprived of meals – homebound seniors are deprived of meals. People ask us to find our common ground, the middle ground. Is middle ground 3 million seniors not receiving meals? I don’t think so. We’ve got to take this conversation from a debate about numbers and dollar figures and finding middle ground there to the higher ground of national values. I don’t think the American people want any one of those 6 million people to lose their meals or the children who are being thrown off of Head Start and the rest of it.”

The Fact Checker: In a city with overheated rhetoric, Pelosi’s statement ranks high on this year’s list of bloviated bluster. It’s bad enough that she repeatedly mixed up 6 million meals and 6 million people – and made no effort to correct the record after her statement was reported in the media. But the figure she used appears to have been invented itself, with little basis in fact.

The budget cuts being contemplated by Republican and Democratic lawmakers will result in some painful sacrifices, especially as the end of the fiscal year draws near. Respected analysts such as the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities have identified the potential impact. There was no need for Pelosi to hype the potential pain.

Van Hollen – On the Tea Party wishing to do away with government:

tSt No sir, we want a limited government, not an out-of-control one.

We want fiscal responsibility in government, not a “no limits” continuous spending spree.

We are not Anarchists, but fiscal Reformists

We want a Constitutionally Conscious Government not a Statist, Socialistic One.

We know that in some cases Extreme measures are needed to curb the Radical growth of government.

We love OUR children — they are ours not serfs of the state — and we want them to have a future in which they can be Self-Sufficient and Free not Dependent and Constrained by Government.

Barney Frank” (Tea Partiers) don’t understand how the Government works”

First, that’s an oxymoron because it “doesn’t work”

Second, the Tea Party is fed up with what goes on in D.C. and this is a classic example.
We are drowning in debt by the trillions and the Parties are mired in debates over cuts that are in the 10′s of billions. They can’t even BEGIN to cut the debt.

Demunists like Reid and Schumer are using the CR and the debt limit to hold the American People hostage to continued spending plans that favor Progressives and favor their voting constituents which need to be bribed and entitled so they will get off the couch and put down the bong to go to the polls.  Our children’s very future is in jeopardy and they want to manipulate circumstances so that they don’t need to be responsible.  They want to blame their opponents for any consequences of their actions.

Disgusting RADICALS using the end justifies the means to transform this country into a second tier nation but of which they can continue to rule their dependent minions.  “Freebies” are the heroine they use to addict the weak and they are little different than street pushers.

The US has adopted a fiscal policy equivalent to the “no limits kids” syndrome — spend without repercussions. Give me give me give me.  True, both parties are certainly at fault but the Progressive Dems just don’t care.  They get their votes by buying them with other peoples’ money.

We have a growing crony capitalism problem combined with greed on Wall Street promoted through a buddy board system.   I don’t care how much someone makes as long as it was earned honestly — not manipulated or stolen wealth.  The “C” level earnings thus have grown exponentially compared to the average employee pay.  This is outrageous.

The public (and some private) unions are no better by demanding ridiculous earnings and benefits driving us to the brink.  Their cries of “shame” in Ohio and Wisconsin are applicable to themselves but they are too selfish to acknowledge it.  Greed isn’t limited to Wall Street anymore.

Either we address the looming economic problems caused by the abuses of both parties and by both the government and private sectors.  We all share in the problem and we must all share in the sacrifice to repair or else our heirs will pay dearly.  Corporate loopholes must be closed (GE paying nothing is a farce).  Either we all work together or we all will fall.  Right now, it looks like the latter because some vested interests like Unions, Progressives and “C” folks simply are not willing to accept their share of the responsibility.

Krugman (NY Times) wrote:

And in low-tax, low-spending Texas, the kids are not all right. The high school graduation rate, at just 61.3 percent, puts Texas 43rd out of 50 in state rankings. Nationally, the state ranks fifth in child poverty; it leads in the percentage of children without health insurance. And only 78 percent of Texas children are in excellent or very good health, significantly below the national average.

Excerpt: So how does brokeass, dumbass, redneck Texas stack up against progressive unionized Wisconsin?

Texas surpasses the WI performance in 17 of 18 comparisons when these are based upon ethnic scores not SAT/ACT performance.  Conclusion – the more white students the better the overall ACT/SAT Score.  However, when more faily compared, the Right to Work State of Texas outperforms the highly vaunted WI school system.  This bunch on whiney, selfish teachers were also outperformed in minority retention rates and …

(Read article to find out more details)

tSt: Greed has motivated the Teachers Union in WI and these flames have been fanned by SEIU, OfA etc., At a time when most folks are struggling and making sacrifices, these overpaid and over-compensated (as a group but there are certainly good teachers in WI who , if paid by merit, would do even better).  Don’t use the “Greedy Corporations” line ever again.  GE paid no taxes.  The public sectors unions in many states have outrageous and unsustainable pensions … there’s not much difference between the two.  The American People are being burdened with GEs share of the taxes, and are subsidizing these royal public servants.  “Shame” and “Greed” shout outs to these unions which have now undone the previous good they accomplished … in the PAST!!!

Word of the Month: CIVILITY:
The call for a “new civility” came after the shootings in AZ by a sicko initially reported to be a right wing extremists.  The LEFT has always played word games and used hyperbole to demonize and to marginalize the opposition.  The Tea Party has been in its sites for over a year now.  First they called us fake … nothing but old faded astroturf.  Then stupid because, well we disagreed with their elistists’ philosophy.  Next racists because, well a lot of members were white seniors so naturally they must hate Obama because he is black, not because he is a socialist

(A brief digression: Liberals revise word definitions to suit their objectives kind of like they revise history to become in line with their political goals.  Take the definition of racism/racists for instance.  I did a little research on the historty and here’s what I can report —

1. Webster Colligiate dictionary (1967 rev 1977)
RACISM:   The practice of racial discrimination (segregation)
2. University of Delaware 2007:
Racist: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. The term applies to all white people (i.e. people of European descent) living in the United States regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality.
By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities or acts of discrimination.
3. ”The modern definition of ‘racist‘ is someone who is winning an argument with a liberal” –Peter Brimelow Created January 23, 2009

Apparently, the Libyan Press has learned their lessons of fair pl ay and reporting from the US Progressive Democrats. The women claining to be raped by 15 of Kaddafy’s thugs has disappeared.  al-Obeidy’s home country has launched an assault on the woman’s reputation. Libyan state television is reporting on her, painting her as a traitor and a prostitute.  Demean and marginalize the opposition because after all, the end justifies the means.  This is a CONSISTENT tactic of the Left.

Now, back to the commentary.  Indeed, the Tea Party are extremists in the sense that when compared to Marx and Engels which are center left to the Progressive, then fiscal responsibility, a constitutionally limited government and support of a free market system are extreme.  These are some of the founding principles of our country and TO THE PROGRESSIVE these ARE extreme.

Therefore, I accept the label as an EXTREMIST! The CIVIL EXTREMIST mind you. Fair enough since compared to the liberal Progressive who wishes to circumvent the Constitution, to disregard fiscal sanity in order to transform our country and to play by the end justifies the means rules, I am extremely different politically.

But Now it is OUR Turn to label the Progressive: RADICALS!!!. Racial, Radical Reid … Paleface, Pelosi the Radical former House Speaker and of course OBAMA the RADICAL-IN-CHIEF.  Radical agendas, Radical ideals, Radical solutions (death panels, government imposed diet and an energy plan that’ll make you sweat) lead to a Radical departure from American Exceptionalism.
Ok so it has just a touch of hyberbole but that has never stopped the attacks by the Progressives with their Radical Media Support and who can forget George Soros and all his Centers for RADICAL Progress and the like.  Turnabout is fair play.  Tired of turing the other cheek to these radical, racists who hate seniors and want to enslave your chidren?  Call them the “R” word every chance you get.
… and have a very Civil day now everyone

20 Days of Left-Wing Thuggery in Wisconsin: When Will Obama, Democrats, and MSM Call for Civility?

 Big Journalism March 18, 2011

Posted by John Nolte

A compilation of 20 days worth of the death threats, vandalism, and intimidation practiced by pro-union thugs opposed to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s budget repair bill.

The Progressives prey on the poor Public Workers’ collective bargaining rights even though those “rights” exploited by union bosses have led to unmanageable state budget deficits cascading from the better pay and benefits than afforded to their private worker counterparts.  The result is many corporations have left those states for right to work states.

Shameful greed on the part of the public unions is matched by their private union leader  In many private unions, the benefits and pay for less value has led to jobs being shipped to other countries. They will use scare tactics on entitlements while rolling out Obamacare.  They will reward unions for their political contributions as Obama did in the auto industry meltdown.

We must all be willing to Share in the Sacrifice to restore fiscal sanity and our constitutionally based system of government.  That means that the public sector union members must either take back their organizations or provide an environment to opt out and then be reasonable on all compensation.  That means social security must be modified and things like upping the starting recipient age

February, 2011

The Progressives hold that the “rich” are not paying their fair share.  Many hard working folks making $20K are unfairly burdened and that those getting all the free TV and a cell phones are not the $20K working families but those who without these freebies would turn to a life of crime.  That’s the argument.

Here are the facts:

Top 1% – $365k
Top 5% – $174k
Top 20% – $97k
Top 40% – $60k
Top 50% – $48k
Lowest 20% – $20k

I. Tax Rates & Earnings

a). The more educated you are, the higher the income. The median individual income of a male high school drop-out was $19k, while a male with a master’s degree came home with $61.7k. So, get your butt an education!!!! Speak English too THAT MIGHT HELP!

b).  Fine. Rich white men rule the nation. But they also pay the most taxes.

The wealthiest 1% earn 19% of total income but pay 37% of all taxes. You know, the family next door amassing 365k/year+. The lowest pay nothing or receive other payers tax dollars back in form of a credit.  Exactly how much do they care about the “systems” America has in place if they have no skin in the game?  No much — just want the hand out to continue.  These situations are what churches and charitable organizations should do, not the government.

How about corporate taxes? The US is the SECOND HIGHEST in the world behind only Japan.  What is the central government — DEM or REPUB — doing with all the revenues besides wasting it or buying votes from special interest groups or “special” voting sectors? People left Detroit and Corporations left MI over taxes.  Now they’re leaving the US or at least setting up separate international operations to avoid taxation (i.e. remain competitive). Translation – socialism doesn’t work.

 II. Middle/Lower Brackets

In fact, the top 50% of households pay 96.9% of all taxes. That means the bottom half of households, those making less than 48k for dual earners or 24k individually are paying 3% (many nothing and/or are getting tax credits back thereby bleeding the middle class).
Results: If you don’t have any skin in the game then you don’t care.  How many public school “monuments” have to be built then vandalized and not cared for by the students who are supposed to be there to learn something not destroy stuff (refer to “I b” above).

III. The Indolent

If you have to bribe people who don’t work with free stuff not to commit crime, then that is just nuts.  Victim mentality creation at its finest and the foundation of the new Democrat Plantation as more and more new black leaders and historians are warning (“Stolen History” by Frantz Kebreau). Yes, we’d be better off with criminals in prison — at least we’d have jobs created for prison building construction workers and correctional facility staff.  Those wage earners would then pay taxes to help pay for the incarceration and lower the overall net costs.  WE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD THIS NONSENSE — WE’RE OUT OF MONEY MAINLY BECAUSE WE KEEP DOING CRAP LIKE THIS.

Why stop with redistributing money?   Let’s redistribute everything.  Let’s say on college test scores, we just redistribute the performance so there is no longer a top 90% and a bottom 10% — everybody is netween 45-55%.  Then we can all go to Harvard and Stanford.

Plus, all the folks who are gaming the system who really work (or have a crime income) are out of hand.  The controls upon the system have become laxed to give those mainly of color extra stuff for votes.  Corruption at its finest.  Government waste and inefficiency with a purpose.  Try a little self-reliance guys, its good for you and actually, you might grow to like it and fell better about yourselves.

IV. Wealth Accumulation and Earned Wealth

I don’t have a problem with how much anyone makes but HOW it is earned — it must be honestly earned!!!  Buddy boards in which the wealthy feather each others wallet must end just like insider trading and stock manipulation.  This is manipulated wealth not earned wealth.  If the corporations won’t regulate themselves (like the robber barons of yesteryear) then C Level pay for publically traded corporations must be set to performance and to a multiplier of “x” per AVERAGE employee salary per industry standards.

Dual justice systems for the ruling class (Rangel and the like) v the People must end as well. Politicians should suffer more not less punishment for breaking the tax laws, bribery and all ill-gotten gains since they have been given the public trust and basically can get away with it easier than Joe Q. Public.  Both Political Parties have too many crooks within their ranks.

Conclusion: In short, in is not the TAX RATE that is the problem, it is the corporate and public institution CORRUPTION and government INEFFICENCY and Give-Aways that is the problemThere’s never enough water to fill up a glass with a hole in the bottom of it.

If this isn’t fixed the middle class will be taxed more and more until it no longer exists.

V. Whose $$ Is It and Who Uses It Better

It is NOT the Government’s Money it is the People’s Money.  PERIOD.  The Government didn’t earn it and isn’t entitled to take whatever it wishes.  The central government is a waste machine and deserves as little as possible of our hard earned $$. Limited government employing intelligent, specific regulation instead of an over-reaching government that “says” it wants to cure all ills (which it can’t — it couldn’t “fix” the Gulf oil leak, can’t run a mail delivery system efficiently etc., etc.) but really wants power and control.

Results: Obamacare – A Power Play for the Progressives and NOT a Solution for the Uninsured.  Another costly entitlement that can’t be paid for (CBO’s numbers are bogus because the guidelines they had to use were bogus — garbage in, garbage out).  You can’t add 20-30 Million folks to the insurance rolls and reduce costs + if the federal government manages it, then we are assured of further corruption and waste. As we have learned, painfully, the central government and their lap dog media saying something is so doesn’t make it so:

Example (other than the now 915 issued Waivers for Obamacare participation):

The AARP and other Medigap providers can require a waiting period before seniors with pre-existing conditions have to be covered. Insurers covering those under 65 cannot.

The AARP is also exempt from the new law’s $500,000 cap on executive compensation for insurance executives. (The nonprofit’s last CEO received over $1.5 million in compensation in his last full year, 2009.) It won’t pay any of the estimated $14 billion in new taxes on insurance companies, though according to its 2008 consolidated financial statement, it gets more money from its insurance offerings than it does from dues, grants and private contributions combined. Nor will it have to spend at least 85% of its Medigap premium dollars on medical claims, as Medicare Advantage plans must do; the AARP will be held to a far less restrictive 65%.

In short, they get a sweetheart deal from the Obama Administration because AARP provided a big chunk of the $121 million spent on ads supporting the bill’s passage, as well as $21 million on lobbying in 2009.  Of course, this is at the expense of seniors but it’d be good for the economy if they would just die off and the nefarious passage of end of life counseling regulation in the middle of the night during the Christmas Holidays simply shows the depths of the Obama Administration’s corruption and deviousness.  Pure tyrannical behavior that we’ve come to expect from our elected government personnel.

There are alternatives to organizations like AARP.  Cancel your policies and go with some other true senior advocate organization.  Fight corrupt corporate buddy boards by not investing in those companies.  Vote for conscientious Conservatives and get the Progressives the hell out of our (THE PEOPLE’s) government.

The awful slaughter of innocent folks in Tucson was despicable.  Even more despicable is the Left’s misuse of this incident for political purposes. Far be it from the Left not to attempt to politicize this tragedy as a means of demeaning, or worse, silencing the Right.  Modus Operandi of the Progressives who must believe they will lose any fair argument.  Facts don’t seem to matter. Thus, they will attempt to “govern” what is acceptable speech and images which might incite violence against a public official.  Yeah, we want the Progressives to use another government agency for their very own political purposes.  Gun control will also be on the agenda. The Party of “the end justifies the means” and never let “a crisis go to waste” is at it again.

Paul Krugman, NYT (where else) wrote a nasty little piece on Saturday after the Tucson tragedy:

(Climate of Hate –

Blaming the Tea Party and Sarah Palin for the tragedy in Tucson over the weekend.  Gabrielle Giffords was on Sarah Palin’s cross hairs list — but Gabby was on the Daily Kos’ (far left site) list as well.  Both sites took down their related ‘posts’ right after the tragedy.

Also, it begs the question “why would the Tea Party want to injure or kill a centrist DEM (one of the few who survived), who, although she did vote for Obamacare, is pro-border protection, pro-gun rights and proposed the US Legislature take a 5% pay cut?”.  Krugman postulates that the Tea Party ran a candidate against her.  True enough, the Movement wanted a more conservative candidate and Obamacare opponent … but to attempt to kill her?  By all reason, this is stretching a little ”truth’ to an extreme not to mention ignoring the facts. The LEFT just cannot resist an opportunity to discredit the Tea Party as all a bunch of Oklahoma City type bombers.  They have egg on the faces again by “jumping the gun” to taint the centrist right Tea Party Movement as crazies in this case and others.  The same thing happened after the madman flew his plane into the IRS Building in Austin. It turns out that the IRS Plane Crasher was an Obama supporter and Jared Loughner is a mixture of extreme philosophies of all persuasions.  All three were “anti-government” — not anti Big Government, they were anarchists. The Communist Manifesto (Marx) and Mein Kampf (Hitler). Hence, most importantly, we must recognize these acts were committed by DERANGED INDIVIDUALS. Who else wants POT as the new US currency? The Right has made MUCH LESS hoopla about political leanings of the insane than the Left.

The media is strangely silent about the Gabby’s shooter’s fondness of

Nota Bene:LA Times “Overwhelming majority of Americans in both parties tell GOP to heed the ‘tea party’” @ (

Krugman dismisses this obvious fact and blames Republicans:
“It’s really up to G.O.P. leaders. Will they accept the reality of what’s happening to America, and take a stand against eliminationist rhetoric? Or will they try to dismiss the massacre as the mere act of a deranged individual, and go on as before?”

This should be no surprise — The Left cannot operate unless it demonizes its opponent.  That eliminates the need to have a rational discussion and thus, it can’t “lose the argument”.  The Progressives have failed again in their disgusting attempt to paint the Right, in particular the Tea Party Movement, as violent.  Their own calls to violence are shielded from sight, now.  The LAP DOG Press will protect the Left from damage that should be done by their politics and baseless accusations. However, the PEOPLE are wise to this travesty and have longer memories that the Left and its JourNOlist comrades.

The Left claims that the Right always poses that the killer in events like these are a single deranged individual. This is ONLY OK with progressives if there is clear evidence that the murderer was a leftist — if he/she can be tied to conservative philosophies, then it is Limbaugh’s, Beck’s, Palins’ and the Tea Party’s fault.  To the left, Lee H Oswald probably had help from some conservative PAC. Individuals who are deranged are just that — deranged individuals.  We cannot let the few insane who commit violence against public officials determine our policies. The Progressives will use this “crisis” for more gun control, for more government regulation in whatever form they can get it.  The Conservatives’ job is to stop them.

Lastly, on Saturday, Krugman closed his article to Comments (this note has been removed) because the “crazies” would be out in force on his “article”.  Not only a disingenuous ideologue but a jelly fish backboned “opinionator” as well.  Yes Paul, the crazies were out —- and you were leading them!

Kudos to the POTUS for asking for a moment of silence to reflect on this event.  Too bad he couldn’t have done the same for Ft Hood victims and the IRS Austin dead.

The Climate of Krugman

The Paper of Record hits rock bottom.

by John Hayward

“Where’s that toxic rhetoric coming from? Let’s not make a false pretense of balance: it’s coming, overwhelmingly, from the right,” Krugman asserts.  Oh, really?  How about the Democrat President?  At various times during his Administration, Barack Obama has said the following:

If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. – June 2008.

I want you to go out and talk to your neighbors… I want you to argue with them, get in their faces. – September 2008.

I don’t want to quell anger.  I think people are right to be angry.  I’m angry. – March 2009.

If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, “We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,” if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s gonna be harder, and that’s why I think it’s so important that people focus on November 2. – October 2010.

So none of that rhetoric contributes to the “climate of hate?” How about Florida Democrat Alan Grayson condemning his opponent as a “religious fanatic” and calling him “Taliban Dan Webster?”  What about when Democrat James Clyburn of South Carolina falsely accused Tea Party members of hurling racial epithets at him?  Do you suppose the heavily deployed Democrat meme of insinuating voters were stupid for acting against them in the midterm elections might have generated some anger?

Shall we step into the minor leagues, and talk about New Hampshire state house candidate Keith Halloran, who responded to the plane crash that killed Alaska Senator Ted Stevens by wishing Sarah Palin was on board?  Another New Hampshire Democrat, Timothy Horrigan, was forced to quit the state legislature for saying “A dead Palin would be more dangerous than a live one” and “if she was dead, she couldn’t commit any more gaffes.”  If that’s not good enough, we could take a step back into the fetid swamps of Bush hatred, when liberals actually made movies about assassinating him.

Hilariously, Krugman explicitly tries to give MSNBC hosts like Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann a pass for pumping greenhouse gas into the Climate of Hate… even though Olbermann criticized himself on this very topic in a Sunday night broadcast.  (Dear New York Times: when you’re publishing a clown who looks unreasonable next to Keith Olbermann, it’s time for an emergency editorial board meeting.)  Presumably Krugman missed the November MSNBC broadcast in which host Dylan Ratigan spoke approvingly of violent revolution with deranged cartoonist Ted Rall.  “Are things in our country so bad that it might actually be time for a revolution?  The answer is obviously yes.  The only question is how to do it.”  That quote comes from the host, not Ted Rall.

Sen. Paul’s comment that the Left Decided To “Manufacture” Narrative Even Before Shooting Occurred

 JHarris (Liberal Blogger)

The left does it so does the right. The right jumped on Obama during the Henry Louis Gates case to cast Obama as not being post racial, being militant, and not representing all Americans, and being un-American when he was critical towards the Cambridge Police. The right jumped all over Obama and was like “see, I told you Obama was this. So Paul can’t be one sided just because not everyone have conservative views towards the government and policy. Hypocritical because both sides do it. The right does it to further their agenda.

 tSt Response:

Obama led with his chin on the Cambridge Police episode and, combined with his appointed AG who gave the New Black Panthers a pass, set the stage for the racial politics of the Obama regime. This was followed by the Liberal Media painting the Tea Party Movement as one driven by bigotry and racism. Even the Congress got into the fray when Emanuel Cleaver lied about being spit upon by a Tea Party Obamacare Protestor. This race card playing and dual standards have become the hallmark of this Administration because of a series of events not merely a single act.
This is SOOOO typical of the Left to claim “well, both sides are doing it” as a way of justifying their despicable political ploys. If the Right defends itself or retaliates, then they are filled with hate, are stupid or are just simply racists.
Thus, it is justified for the Progressive Press and Politicians, without any substantiating facts, to demonize the rhetoric from the Right as contributing to the AZ Tragedy. Combine that with other attempts to silence opposition (remember the little issue when this Administration attempted to exclude FOX news as part of the WH Press Corp because it was not a true news organization?) through legislation (Proposed “Fairness Doctrine”) or intimidation (the FCC’s unlawful attempt to regulate the internet) and you clearly have another despicable leftist tactic. NO, THE RIGHT DOES NOT ASCRIBE TO AN END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS PHILOSOPHY. These are the tactics witnessed throughout history of a tyrannical and totalitarian mindset.

Here are some facts:

There are seriously disturbed people in America.
Cutting social programs, which is a pillar of the Republican agenda, will reduce our ability to care for these people.
Second amendment activists have allowed these people legal access to automatic weapons.
Heated rhetoric on talk radio raises the level of hate and intolerance.
One of these disturbed people targeted a Democratic Congresswoman and killed six innocent people.
Now try to understand why “liberals” might have a problem with this. Just try.

tSt: (Please NOTE that mostly opinions and few “facts” are stated.  The progressive believes he can attribute everything to the environment and that the central government can cure all ills.  His thoughts are “facts” and to disagree with him enables the left to demonize and demean because the end justifies their means.  Other than the initial assertion each and every oversimplified point is debatable but not to the closed mind which presupposes it has all the correct answers).

Thanks for reading and commenting plus is you have any suggestions for improvement, please let me know.

May your favorite teams do well in the bowls or the playoffs and may all your candidates be honest and Conservative!

Well, I waited a little while for the FINAL Election results to be determined before this “November” Issue.  In the NY1, Randy Altschuler conceded the election to Bishop leaving the Republican House total at 63.  I projected 64 and fell one short since I should know better the capabilities of the DEMS in “winning” close contests fraught with fraud.

I was off by 3 in the Senate as Reid, Boxer and Bennett held off strong conservative challenges. Wish Conservatives had done a couple of seats better to improve the odds of taking over the Senate in 2012.  With 23 DEMS up for re-election, there are plenty of targets.

My donations went to 16 House candidates and 11 won.  For the Senate, I donated to 13 and 5 came out winners.  Donated to the Republican Governors site and the Texas Republican site and those did well.

Save $50 per month for the next 24 months and you will have $1200 to invest in candidates for 2012!

Heck, the political pundits are wrong all the time so I might as well throw in my 2 pennies with 11 days to go before the mid term elections.  DEMs lose big in the House — few pick an exact number but 64 pick ups for the Repubs seems OK.  In the Senate, the DEMs have jettisoned marginal house candidates and are throwing dollars at the Senate races. There are 8 Toss Up races on Real Clear Politics (51-49 advantages DEMs with “NO Toss Ups)”.  I’m hoping for a Repub landslide and for them to take both Houses but I think they will fall a seat short at 50-50. (With goofy Biden maybe he’ll hit the wrong button if he has to cast a tie-breaking vote —- it could happen). Haven’t donated to the races?  Have a few bucks left?  Throw some at the Senate —

VOTE!!!!  By using your head, by listening to your heart but not while holding your hand out

Use the Acornian Method  - Vote Early and Often

HEADS UP TEXAS CONSERVATIVES: The Progressive pukes are targeting Texas so look for the mud-slinging to begin next month.  Why Texas?  First, with the recent census, the state will likely pick up 4 seats in the House in 2012.  The redistricting will be determined at the state level.  So, the balance of power potentially for the next 10 years is riding on this outcome.  I am an Independent, a Conservative and not a Republican. In this case, the Elephant Party needs support  to maintain the majority in the Legislature.

Second, they want the Progressive Bill White to defeat Perry so that OUR model of state fiscal responsibility will crumble. I am no Perry fan — but his corruptness is limited to relatively smaller circles and there is a lack of focus on education. White on the other hand is a big spending redistribution freak.  He’ll claim to be a fiscal conservative but he made Houston a sanctuary city (that costs money and lives), he pushed a green agenda through the “greening” of some houses (mostly rentals) — a total waste in which contractors were paid $50 to change a light bulb as one small example.  The total cost for “improvements” was way higher than what typical market costs for caulking, insulation and workmanship should have been (Wayne Dolcefino of Channel 13 did a report on this locally).  He was paying his green economy dues (and enriching his local buddies) for his Progressive DC ruling class associates. Now they are coming to repay his agenda allegiance.  I am so sick of voting for the lesser of two evils but Perry is the clear choice this year.  So vote against White if you can’t vote for Perry.

FUND Raising (RCP source):

The Democratic National Committee performed the best of any of the committees with its $10.9 million haul last month; the DNC’s total was $3.1 million more than the RNC’s August influx of $7.8 million. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $1.7 million more than the National Republican Congressional Committee, at $8.3 million in August to $6.6 million; and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee brought in $1.4 million more than the National Republican Senatorial Committee, $7.4 million to $6 million.

However, this does not track individual contributions made directly to a campaign.  This is what I have done and what I encourage all of you to do as well if you do not wish to contribute directly to a Party. Conservative/Tea Party Candidates need your support so please do what you can.

(Anyone but some naive student believe this one — anybody?  anybody?)

(A quick digression about racism since they use the term to demean their political opponents on a regular basis. Let’s review the history of the definition quickly in order to understand how the Progressive abuses language by “redefining” common meanings to benefit their cause.  Kind of like revisionist History only with language so it tells only the story they wish to be told:

Webster Colligiate dictionary (1967 rev 1977) RACISM:

“Perhaps because a state’s “average ACT/SAT” is, for all intents and purposes, a proxy for the percent of white people who live there. In fact, the lion’s share of state-to-state variance in test scores is accounted for by differences in ethnic composition. Minority students – regardless of state residence – tend to score lower than white students on standardized test, and the higher the proportion of minority students in a state the lower its overall test scores tend to be.”

This article compares various grade levels by ethnic scores rather than overall scores and the Right to Work Texas System out performs the vaunted WI System (Number 2 Nationwide in ACT/SAT scores doncha know) with its lavish pay and benefits for teachers.

tSt: Although there are many good, hard-working teachers there are quite a few who are in it totally for themselves and who are gaming the system at the expense of the tax payers.  Looks like the folks in WI are getting even less than what we pay for here (which is already of questionable value).  However, if they want to keep taxing companies and individuals so folks in Unions can have a better life than the average citizen, then we welcome all the companies (and jobs) moving here from up there.

Word of the Month: Civility

After the shooting in AZ, the politicians, mainly DEMs called for a new civility in tone which lasted a couple of nanoseconds.  I believe that we ought to embrace that mantle in the same spirit that guides our misguided Progressive friends.  The latest attacks on conservatives, particularly the Tea Party (a Movement, not a Party for the uninformed), is that they “extremists”.  Of course, this is after calling them old, white racists and prior to that a bunch of ignorant astroturf partisans.  How sweet.

The POTUS once again is demostrating that the progressives, the academics and their minions have trouble with basic economics.  Could it be that bringing big government solutions to marketplace issues simply make matters worse?

tSt Take: Give something to Union Construction workers, give something to public unions (Teachers/police and fire), give something to “disadvantaged youths” and thus you’ve rewarded your base — AGAIN — $400B is another lie it’ll likely be more than double because of gov’t inefficiency — tax, tax, tax and pay for all this later of course.

He’s the Lincoln Liar (gives great speech but is no Honest Abe — misrepresented history repeatedly in this political partisan progressive program last night … left out stuff like with regard to the Land Grant colleges, states could choose lands from other states to fund their colleges  — NY choose expensive WI timberland to fund Cornell — all unintended consequences of over-reaching gov’t.

If he’s so smart, he must know this so the only conclusion is he’s a liar as Herman Cain agrees.
